Family owned business with over 10 years of experience handling all your Plumbing needs for residential plumbing repairs. Water, fuel, and drainage systems. **There is a $50.00 trip charge that will be waived if you hire our company.

"Chance was great. He installed our 3-stage water filtration system (US Water sediment, carbon, and Pulsar UV) with an existing softener, a new water heater, and fixed two shower leaks (one drain, one valve). In all of these, he efficiently evaluated each system and made the necessary updates. This was working with a plumbing system originally installed in the 1980s. Fair pricing, and very professional. We highly recommend him."

At PG Plumbing we have a simple yet powerful reason for starting our plumbing company: to bring a breath of fresh air to the plumbing industry in Fort Wayne and Allen County. With the rise of large corporate plumbing conglomerates, we noticed the disappearance of the small, locally-owned plumbing businesses that once thrived in our community. This inspired us to step in and make a difference. Our mission is clear: we are here to provide our customers with cost-effective, personal experiences rather than prioritizing profit margins. We understand the frustration that often comes with plumbing issues, and our goal is to alleviate that stress with a service you can trust. We invite you to choose PG Plumbing a local, employee-owned, reliable, and trustworthy team, for all your plumbing needs. Your satisfaction is our priority, and we are committed to providing you with the best service possible. Thank you for considering us as your plumbing partner in Fort Wayne. We look forward to serving you and your community for years to come.

The history of Bluffton Plumbing and Heating dates back to the early 1920’s when Ames & Emi Steffen started the Bluffton Tin Shop. At that time, most furnaces were coal fired or oil fired with natural gas furnace installations having to get a special permit to hook up to natural gas lines. The company was located at 205-207 N Main at that time and remained in that location until the 1990’s. As technology changed, so did Bluffton Tin Shop as it changed its name to Bluffton Heating and Sheet Metal and then to Bluffton Heating & Plumbing, Inc. and then finally to Bluffton Heating and Electric. We may have changed our name, but our dedication to quality products and services has always remained the same. In all that time the business was owned by the Steffen Family relatives until the 1990’s when it was sold to James Ottjes. We relocated in 2004 to 2095 Commerce Drive, Bluffton, IN (located just East of Lowe’s). We now offer a full line of service and products in electrical, plumbing, heating and air conditioning.

"Installed on-demand water heater but charged extra to have electric ran to the unit. Replaced CPVC of house to water heater, shower, toilet, bath sink, and kit. sink, afterwards many of the fittings leaked. Got another estimate to finish work and repair leaks, cost was $1800.00. Workers left several items in crawl space which another plumber found. Called for them to pick up items but took three weeks for them to show up and when they did they accused us of stealing several items. We also called on several occasions to try and resolve problems only to be yelled at continually. Had them hang some dry wall and was unhappy with the result because there were several bubbles under tape and it took me two hours to sand down. They also accused me of sanding down their work too soon but if you will notice in the pictures that was far from the truth. They sent a bill that stated NET 30 on the invoice only to demand the bill be paid quicker or they were going to add 30% to the amount owed. This business is deceitful, liars, and rude."

Water Softeners questions, answered by experts

There are many possibilities for why your shower’s water pressure is low. It might be a simple-to-fix issue like the water valves being partially turned off, a dirty showerhead or hose, leaks in the plumbing, or an old showerhead. However, low water pressure in the shower could also indicate a larger issue with your home’s plumbing system.

A single shower consumes an average of over 17 gallons, while brushing your teeth with the water running uses up to four unnecessary gallons. Watering the lawn spreads hundreds of gallons of water across the yard each time. Limiting water usage in these areas can significantly cut down your water bill.

A water softener removes minerals from your drinking water and can make your house water softer. These softeners are designed to extend the lifetime of your plumbing system while also making water safer and more palatable for drinking. Hard water, which is water with a heavy amount of suspended particles, can also cause hair damage, skin irritation, and buildup in your pipes.

A good hardness level for drinking water can vary based on personal preferences, but an ideal level is 3.5 to 7 GPG. This means your water isn’t soft or hard. However, some people prefer the “fresh” taste from the minerals in hard water, while others like the smoother, “slippery” texture of soft water.

Water softeners have many benefits. The most important one is converting previously hard water—water with too many minerals—to more usable, easier water. When we say easier water, we mean water that’s easier to digest, less harsh on skin and clothes, and builds up less in the water system. Softer water may lead to lower energy costs and will extend the lifespan of all appliances that use water.
