"Great job all around. The sales rep came to our home and was very transparent about the timeline of the install being 10 weeks out. Let us know we wouldn’t really hear anything until a couple of weeks before the install. They did demo all the way down to the studs, disposed of all trash, re plumbed and installed the new shower in 2 days! We did financing through power pay with them as well. At first you might have a bit of sticker shock, but the quality of the finished product and amazing staff is well worth paying for. Fernando was always on time and amazing to work with. Great job!"

"We love our deck extension! They were able to add on to our existing deck and took on a huge project to extend it 50ft across! Carmel had a bunch of extra requirements but eventually we got the permit with extra additions and Maynor himself did a great job handling the changes and keeping us in the loop! Not only do we love the deck, but the work is high quality and they are all very hardworking individuals! We would definitely use them again and definitely recommend them!"

"We used NuLook Home Service to repair a section of textured drywall in a garage ceiling, damaged du to a water leak, and to repair two failed areas in the subfloor of a bathroom. We had a very positive experience. Within minutes after submitting a request for an estimate, David (the owner) called me to discuss options. I should note that, not only was David really quick to respond, none of the other companies to whom I requested estimates bothered to contact me at all. David was able to look at pictures that I sent of the ceiling and bathroom floor and provided an initial estimate. It looked like the project would take two days to complete. We confirmed an appointment to complete the work for the next day following my initial quote request. I really did not expect service that quickly. The NuLook crew (Joe and Jay) arrived in the morning. They were both great to work with and patient with my questions. Joe and Jay completed the work very efficiently and with great quality! Following the completion of the job, David called me to ensure I was satisfied. He reduced the price of the job to be in-line with the amount of time it took to complete (one day instead of two), which I appreciated greatly. Overall, we had a great experience with NuLook, and would definitely use them again in the future."

Backsplash Installation questions, answered by experts

For glass tile, you want to use unsanded grout. Sanded grout is a stronger and grittier cement grout that is great for installing tiles with wider gaps and into joints. However, it is susceptible to scratching glass tile and is more difficult to use in thinner gaps. Unsanded grout, while more expensive, is easier to fit between thin gaps and is less harsh on delicate materials, like glass tile.

Yes, you can use paint if you want to refresh your tile countertops. However, you must be mindful of the type of paint you use. Look for options explicitly created for tile that are also waterproof and durable. Over time, the paint will chip, so this is not considered a long-term solution for busy kitchens.

Grout lines should typically be between 1/8 to 3/16 inch thick. This ensures enough room for the grout to dry properly and makes them wide enough to look clean and professional. If grout lines are too small, it can be easier to see imperfections in the spacing.

Yes, it would be best if you waterproofed your shower walls before tiling. The cement backing board behind the tile is not waterproof; it’s only water-resistant. On top of your tile backing board, be sure to use a waterproof shower membrane before you start installing your shower tiles.

Thinset mortar is the best adhesive for ceramic tiles on concrete. It is easy to work with and has a slower dry time than mastic or epoxy mortars. This longer dry time gives the installer more time to adjust tiles, which is especially useful for DIYers who may not have tile installation experience. It can also be built up to help level any depressions or gaps in the concrete subfloor.
