"Their price was the lowest for removing large tree and grinding stump. The tree was next to the property line with my neighbor. They did an excellent job of not dropping branches on his property. They did a great job of clean up and I would highly recommend."

Small jobs welcome

"Had problems showing up on time. Had to put on vinyl siding but struggled to get it right. Had to repaint inside wall 3 times, had to re-mud twice. Tried really hard to do a good job and kept coming back until I was satisfied. Brought 3 year old son to the job (mother was present but would have gotten more done without having to watch him). Very pleasant and eager to please but not sure of their experience level."

"They had a cancellation and able to complete the work early. Showed up on time the next morning. Tree was 50' tall. There was no mess left behind. In face we hired them to come out to take down 2 more trees this up coming weekend. Would definitely hire them for any further projects."

"Snyder’s Tree Service did an amazing job cutting down a very large tree (and two smaller ones) in out back yard, which was a challenging project. They were flexible with scheduling us around another project we had going on. They were prompt, professional, and did an amazing job of cleaning up after grinding the stump. We will be using them again to trim several other large trees in the Spring. I would highly recommend using Snyders Tree Service!"

Arborists questions, answered by experts

Yes, carefully prune back dead branches—don’t wait for pruning season. This helps keep your maple tree healthy and also helps prevent large branches from falling unexpectedly. Don’t seal the cut branch—trees can naturally take care of these wounds—but be sure to remove any source of fungus or pest infestation to help save the tree.

Homeowners are usually not responsible for trees that fall on power lines. Power companies usually have utility easements around power lines, which give them the responsibility to maintain any trees within about 15 to 20 feet of the lines.

Any cutting of tree roots can hurt or kill a tree, which is why it's recommended you don’t do it unless the roots are damaging or invasive on a nearby structure like your home. You should never cut more than 15 percent of above-ground tree roots at one time. If you have any questions about cutting tree roots, contact your local arborist.

You can find pruning paints and sealants for trees, but you shouldn’t use them on a topped tree. Coatings like these often inhibit the tree’s healing process. An important exception is if there are dangerous fungi nearby that the tree is particularly vulnerable to, like oaks and oak wilt. Sealing cuts can help prevent fungi from taking root.

Carefully pruning small roots no thicker than three inches in diameter won’t harm the tree. However, cutting larger roots may impact the tree's stability and nutrient absorption. It's advisable to consult an arborist or tree care professional to evaluate the root's size, the tree's health, and the potential impact of cutting. Proper tree pruning techniques and timing can minimize damage, but larger root removal may necessitate expert guidance to avoid compromising the tree's overall health and stability.
