"Edwin Par, owner-operator of Long Horn Tree Solution (346-831-2028), and his crew recently did a fantastic job removing several trees and pruning others on our property. They arrived even before the appointed time and put in a full day of work, displaying great work ethic along with a super congeniality and quick response to our needs. Edwin himself demonstrated the knowledge of an arborist, making recommendations as to how to deal with various issues and pruning prize trees. He was congenial, perseverant, and responsive to our needs. We were most pleased with their work, including falling huge trees, pruning expertly, stacking debris at the curb, grinding stumps and cleaning up, and give Edwin our highest recommendation."

"We hired AJ and Kyler to build a fence on the side of our yard, put grass in, trim our bushes, mulch around the bushes, and clean up the landscaping. They were so great to work with! They started working and got it done very quickly! They were super responsive and communicated very well! They made sure that we were all on the same page before they started working on the fence about pricing and when the job would be completed! They did so well that we hired them back again this year to re-trim our bushes and cleanup our landscaping! 10/10 experience - I will be recommending them to all of our friends and family!!"

Arborists questions, answered by experts

After tree service in Fort Wayne, schedule annual inspections with a certified arborist to monitor for disease or structural issues. Prune mature trees every three to five years, and refresh mulch around the base each spring. The Indiana Department of Natural Resources recommends monitoring for pest activity and preparing trees for winter by removing dead branches and checking for signs of drought stress during hot months.

Helpful?

When hiring for tree service in Fort Wayne, verify the company holds proper liability insurance and workers' compensation, and look for International Society of Arboriculture (ISA) certification. Ask for references from local projects and request a detailed, written estimate. Ensure the arborist is familiar with Fort Wayne's permit requirements and local tree species, as recommended by the Indiana Department of Natural Resources.

Helpful?

In Fort Wayne, unexpected costs during tree service can include permit application fees, additional labor for trees near power lines, and charges for stump grinding or hauling large debris. Homeowners may also need to address lawn restoration if heavy equipment is used. Consulting with the City of Fort Wayne or a certified arborist can help clarify which tree care tasks might require extra steps or permissions.

Helpful?

In Fort Wayne, common mistakes include failing to obtain required permits from the City of Fort Wayne, improper pruning techniques like topping, and attempting DIY removals near power lines. Homeowners sometimes hire uninsured contractors or neglect to check for ISA certification. Relying on local experts familiar with Fort Wayne's tree care standards helps prevent property damage and ensures compliance with city regulations.

Helpful?

In Fort Wayne, a tree removal permit is generally required for removing trees on public property or within the city right-of-way, as outlined by the City of Fort Wayne Neighborhood Code Compliance. If your project is near utility lines, you must coordinate with Indiana Michigan Power for clearance. For heritage or protected trees, consult the Fort Wayne Parks and Recreation Department to ensure compliance with local tree care regulations.
