"I contacted Gary shortly before Christmas because we noticed a smoke smell in the house for days / weeks after having a fire in the fireplace.  After doing my own research I thought it may have been caused by a draft and thought a top mount damper would fix it.  I asked Gary for a quote and to my surprise was able to come out same day to inspect the chimney.  He diagnosed us as having a moisture problem with the masonry causing the smell.  He proposed caulking a few places where moisture may have been coming in and sealing the brick on the whole chimney.  We had family coming in for Christmas so I asked him to get it done as quickly as possible.  They came out the same week and completed the work.  We noticed an improvement but the smell wasn't completely gone.  Gary followed up with me and I told him I was concerned because the smell was still somewhat present.  He came back again after the holidays when the weather was a little drier and sealed the brick again and made sure all the caulking was adequate.  Overall very pleased with Gary and their work.  They seemed fair with pricing and eager to make sure the job was done properly and up to our expectations.  Will gladly work with Smalling Masonry for any future needs.

"The work was done over 3 visits. First to clear the clog, next to evaluate why the clog occurred in the first place and determine what to do about it, then to make the plumbing changes. In all cases the people Hope Plumbing not only did great work, but also did a great job of explaining what they were doing. Because we knew there were sewer line issues, our expectation was that they would have to dig up either our basement, or our front yard. They found a solution which did not require either and was less expensive, by rerouting the line through the crawl space. The plumbing changes worked and they ran the lines high and tight to the ceiling, so it did not block access to the crawl space. Very good overall experience."

"They asked for extra money because of where the heater was located.  I went out of my way talking with the company scheuler to inform them in advance of the location (basement) and that the gas line would need to remove.  
I was told there would not be any extra costs.  Once they arrived  immediately asked for a flat fee of $250.00 for extra services.  We worked out a reduced extra services cost but that is not my problem.  When you go out of your way to review in advance the place and issues involved, and get a confirmation that NO extra costs will be involved ,,, that is what is expected.
