"Two showers were installed. Carson and Reiniel did an outstanding job of removal of the two old showers. They removed the old bathtubs, and completely updated the plumbing installing two new bathroom showers. Carson and Reiniel teams were onetime and very professional. I have received wows from the neighbors after seeing the finished product. I am over the moon on the final result ."

"A step n'shower was installed in one 12 hour day. Installers were professional, worked to remove tub and then install an excellent step-in shower. Safety features were a special issue for me at age 82. When a question arose then following day, the installers returned that very day and checked on their work. The slight problem was not due to their installment and they advised me as to the next step. I am thoroughly satisfied."

"I had Ken and his crew come out in Dec. 2019 to install a new shower and replace two sink faucets in our primary bathroom. They did a great job. We did need a little warranty work done recently and they sent out a service technician who did what we asked courteously and professionally. I love a company that stands behind their work and Prime Baths in Coal City does just that. Will use them again as needed for sure."

"The crews were extraordinarily polite, friendly, efficient, and very energetic. They ran into a lot of underground water when digging the trench for the buckled wall repair, but were able to put in the necessary reinforcements from inside the basement extending out to the trenched area. We live in an area with a lot of underground springs and artesian water, and when they began work the dirt under the foundation and crawl space was just wet mud, and water poured in at 36 inches deep as they created an outlet for the water to be safely drained away from the house. The basement is completely dry and we have a back up sump pump. My basement is surrounded by a crawl space since it was added after the house was built. The sump pumps and dehumidifier are warrantied for 5 years and the waterproofing has a lifetime warranty. Our house had problems because the basement was added after the house was built, but Indiana Foundation was able to make the house safe, and completely dry and usable. Since we live on a hillside, we will be adding a French drain behind the house and garage, far enough away to not further damage any of the foundations, but at the natural flow of the hillside where water collects to run down hill or underground. If we go at least 36 inches deep, it should help reduce some of the water that flows into the house area. This was some advice given by the supervisor at Indiana Foundation. They don't install French drains any longer, as they don't carry away all water and don't carry a guarantee, but in our situation it will probably help and is something I will be contracting out in the near future. The French drain is similar to what farmers install in fields to drain away excess water to a creek or deep ditch. It isn't something we have to do, but it will put a lot less strain on the sump pumps and other equipment, and in case of a long term power outage, would likely save our other appliances too (furnace, water heater, walls, etc.). I love the battery back up pump and it has already been in use twice when we had two separate power outages from storms. The workmen from Indiana Foundation were delightful to have in my home, running in and out with loads of materials, cheerfully hammering the walls and floors to install their system. Second: My electrician was able to repair a line running to our garage after the water problem was resolved. Water poured in over the connections in the basement without our realizing it, and no electricity was live in the back room of the garage. New basement, New Electric, New Plumbing - we are very happy with the results!"

Plumbing questions, answered by experts

As homes age throughout IN, plumbing systems degrade in predictable stages. Pre-1950s houses experience pressure loss from corroded galvanized steel pipes. Homes built between the 1950s and 1970s face severe drain backups due to tree root intrusion in clay sewer laterals. Properties from the 1970s to 1990s contain failing polybutylene pipes. Address these issues promptly with a full repipe or sewer lateral replacement to protect your property.

Helpful?

Homeowners in Delphi frequently skip required permits for plumbing modifications. Another major error involves abandoning old private wells without properly sealing them during municipal switchovers, creating severe contamination hazards. DIYers also attempt to clear slow drains without camera inspections, missing collapsed clay tiles entirely. Always verify septic setback requirements and bury outdoor lines below the 36-inch frost depth to prevent freezing and protect your system.

Helpful?

Whole-house low water pressure and rust-colored water indicate failing galvanized supply lines that require immediate replacement. In older Delphi neighborhoods, recurring spring sewer backups point to collapsed clay laterals rather than simple clogs. Visible gray polybutylene pipes and persistent moisture near basement floor drains also signal defective past plumbing installations. Hire a professional to inspect any unpermitted work to ensure your home meets current safety standards.

Helpful?

Older historic homes in Delphi feature original cast iron or galvanized pipes, which complicate modern plumbing upgrades. Properties near the Wabash River floodplain require elevated systems and backflow prevention to meet safety standards. Rural homes rely on private wells and septic systems, adding pressure regulation challenges. Hire a professional to navigate aging municipal water lines and complex basement drain tile intersections safely and efficiently.

Helpful?

Severe winter freezes in IN require contractors to bury underground lines below the 36-inch frost depth. Repeated freeze-thaw cycles stress outdoor fixtures and pipe joints. During spring, heavy rain and snowmelt saturate the ground, causing sewer lateral infiltration and overwhelming sump pumps. Schedule major underground plumbing replacements between late spring and fall to avoid frozen ground and ensure a smooth, safe installation process for your home.
