"Paul was very informative. He quickly responded to any questions we had. He was able to take care of us sooner than we expected. His staff was friendly, clean and notified us of there delay from the insulation plant. All around a great experience. Only complaint is panels they cut in walls could have been cut better to make it easier to replace the drywall but they were very good to not make them too big and cleaned up dust after."

"They did a good job. They ran the vacuum after they were done, they laid down guards to make sure none of the insulation got anywhere else in my home and wore hospital booties so they didn't track anything in. They helped me take down my drapes and made sure that they had guards in the attic so the insulation wouldn't cover the ducts. I was greatly pleased with their work and I can already tell a difference in the temperature in my home."

"I could not be more pleased. Nathan and his assistant were very professional. They promised to be to my job site on a particular date and time. They arrived on the date and earlier than promised for the start time. I received 4 bids to have my project completed. Nathan was 20% lower than the next contractor. I had spent 30 years in the insulation business. Nathan work was top quality and he went beyond what I expected in effort. I HIGHLY recommend him."

Drywall Insulation questions, answered by experts

You should leave a gap between drywall sheets because they naturally expand and contract along with the building framing as temperature and humidity change. Most pro drywall installers leave a gap of about ⅛ inch between drywall sheets, allowing the sheets to expand, contract, and shift without cracking or becoming damaged. If you don’t leave enough gaps between slabs, the edges will press against each other when they expand, and the pressure can cause visible cracks.

Although they are used for similar tasks, spackle and joint compound are not the same. Joint compound, also known as drywall mud, consists of limestone and gypsum and is primarily used for large-scale projects like taping and finishing seams on new drywall. Spackle is composed of gypsum and binding agents, making it a thicker compound best suited for small wall repairs like filling nail holes or cracks, as it dries quickly and is easy to sand. For small repairs, either product can be suitable. However, you can use joint compound for small jobs in place of spackle, but you cannot use spackle for large-scale taping and mudding projects.

Yes, wainscoting is installed directly over drywall. However, ensure the drywall is in good shape since it will support the wainscoting. If the drywall has issues, such as holes, mold, or mildew, repair them before installing the wainscoting. Alternatively, you can install a plywood substrate before attaching the trim.

To maintain plaster walls, inspect them regularly for cracks and seal them early. Clean the walls by dusting regularly or using a gentle, damp cloth. It's also important to avoid moisture exposure. Repainting as needed will help maintain the wall's appearance and longevity.

There are several things you should not do when installing drywall. Common mistakes include: adding too many screws, over-sanding, not adding backing support, and installing drywall unevenly. You also should avoid screwing into the same place twice, installing Sheetrock with tapered edges on the outside, and making too many joints.
