"David fixed everything. He a collar to the chimney, found a leak under my shingles, fixed and replaced those shingles and modified the gutter and the screening so it would no longer go down the front of my cedar shingles. All went well and haven't had problems since."

Customers say: True professional

"Contacted 4 well rated companies from Angies List. 3 were punctual in arranging to visit, including Kevin from River's Edge design. Our deck is on a falling away slope and Kevin was the only bidder who seemed to be able to get a good grasp of the project and come up with a good design. He spent an hour here discussing the project, making sure he understood our needs and discussing alternatives. Bid was competitive with the others, with the differentiation being his design and general overall professionalism, including suggestions on shape, edging and finishing etc..

The work was started the following week and completed within 6 working days. Work included cutting up and removing the old wooden deck and then planning out and installing the new.   Drew executed the whole project in a professional way and cleaned up appropriately

Final help from Kevin was provided on getting quotes to get the staining work done. Contacted 3 suppliers for us, who he knows do a good job, including providing guarantees. Of course we could have done this ourselves, but as the staining is part of the overall appearance of the deck, Kevin is working to ensure that the whole integrated project looks good."

"Chris came out to inspect the areas needing insulation and provided a quote at the same visit. He explained the process and answered all my questions. I also got 2 other quotes for this work and felt BC Services quote was competitive and fair. They were able to start the job within two weeks. They arrived as promised and completed the work within the timeframe they told us. They provided photos of the areas where the insulation was added and a measurement to show that the insulation was at the R-49 rating they promised. They even added new access panels to replace the current ones which were not as secure as they should have been at no charge. They did a very professional job. Chris and Beau were both on site and performed the work with an apprentice( Brennan, I believe) They cleaned up very well after the work was completed. Their customer service was excellent and everyone was very helpful and friendly. Very good experience and I would definitely hire them again."

"My deck project was done by Centennial Construction. The old boards were removed and replaced with TImberTech boards. From the start, their team was accessible, friendly and professional. There were no hick-ups, delays or surprises. The communication was excellent, including with the owner. The finished project looks great!"

"I wish I had before pictures so you could see the difference! We had the same thing done three years ago, and the outcome was not close to the work Tracey did. He cleaned and sealed the concrete patio, power washed, replaced a few boards on the sides of the deck and used a semi-transparent stain the deck/bench seating/side boards. The price was a bit lower than our other bid, his communication and customer service was outstanding, and we have already shared his contact information with neighbors looking for their own 'deck revival'"

"Keith did an outstanding job on our 21 year old deck. He replaced quite a few boards, did a power wash and sealed the deck in approximately 4 days. I think it might have been quicker if we could have avoided the rain. I was very happy with all the work and the look of the deck when finished. I would definitely contact Keith with another project and would highly recommend him."

FAQs for patio cover service projects in Castleton, IN

While the terms deck and porch are often used interchangeably, they are two distinct home features. Porches offer a roof that protects from the elements when coming and going from the house. Generally, porches are on the front of your home. On the other hand, decks are generally built in the backyard of a home and offer no roof or protection from the elements, like rain or snow. Porches typically require less maintenance and upkeep thanks to the roof, but both features require regular cleaning and repairs to maintain good condition.

The cost of an awning is $1,400 to $4,400 on average. However, this cost could be as low as $100 or as high as $7,500, depending on a few factors. The type of awning you choose, the size you need, and your location all affect your overall cost.

For example, portable awnings you can put up and take down yourself range from $100 to $400, whereas motorized awnings are more luxurious and cost between $2,000 and $3,500.

The cost to build a deck is $8,025 on average. However, this cost can range anywhere from $1,500 to $22,000, depending on multiple factors, such as size, materials, and deck type. You can expect to pay $30 to $60 per square foot when building a new deck.

Cedar decks are often the most cost-effective option, ranging from $4 to $9 per square foot for materials. However, pressure-treated decking, which is resistant to rot, is more expensive, ranging from $15 to $25 per square foot for materials.

Awnings are either fixed or retractable and can be paired with a variety of cover materials. Fixed awnings are a permanent outdoor feature of a building. These are highly durable and require ongoing maintenance. Once installed, the position of this awning cannot be changed.

Retractable awnings are more popular than fixed awnings since the cover can open and close. This allows homeowners to open and close the awning, depending on the weather. When not in use, it can be closed to allow for extra space.

Besides the type of awning, you’ll need to choose the type of cover. Your awning installation professional will review your options with you, including availability and costs. The types of covers you can choose from include:

  • Wood, which is durable but can be damaged easily by rainwater and fire

  • Cotton offers flexibility, weatherproofing, and easy cleaning

  • Canvas is highly durable and is a good choice for retractable awnings

  • Metal is sturdy but is prone to rust

  • Polyester is easy to clean and is a more breathable option

  • Polycarbonate is highly resistant to UV rays and is difficult to damage
