TruBlue is a full-service company that offers both bundled and unbundled services. Clients looking for dependable, high-quality, individual services can hire TruBlue for basic help around the home, handyman repairs, cleaning services, emergency repairs, landscaping, seasonal services and minor home renovations. For clients looking for total house care solutions – especially seniors and busy families who want the comfort and convenience of owning a home without worrying about the maintenance hassles – TruBlue offers a House Care Plus monthly maintenance program. TruBlue also works with homeowners, realtors and rental property owners who need to get homes move-in ready quickly and keep them maintained as well as business clients. TruBlue is unique because, while we can become your complete house care manager, helping with everything from simple chores to handyman, maid or yardwork – all catered to help homeowners with their always-growing ‘to do’ list – we understand that what we’re really giving you is time. Homeowners in our area never seem to have enough time to do all the things we want to do, but we spend a lot of time maintaining and caring for our homes. In many cases we do the work ourselves because we are unable to find service providers who can meet our expectations in a quality and timely manner. TruBlue is also unique because our House Care Plus and Senior Safety programs can be combined to help older adults stay in their homes longer. My team can help seniors transform their homes to meet their changing needs and then we offer continuous maintenance services through House Care Plus. It’s all about helping older adults thrive in their own homes while offering their loved ones the peace of mind that comes with having a partner like TruBlue to help.

"Very well- he came out in the fall to photography our driveway. He then could calculate a price, plus he wouldn’t damage anything adjacent to the driveway. Very nice, careful and thorough. He came out only twice because we did not have much snow this winter, but he did a very complete job."

"Brock was going to remove two sycamore trees from our yard. He came to our house about two months earlier and quoted them at $6400.and I signed his contract.. Brock also requested that 4 sections of our fence be removed prior to his arrival which my wife and did. Upon his arrival Brock stated that we need two more sections removed and did provide one of his men to help. After about 2 hours I was called outside and Brock stated that the trees were to tall for his equipment and he could only trim the lower branches for $4700. I agreed if that was all he could do I would pay! Bottom line my wife and I had to spend the rest of the day replacing our fence. My wife and I are in our in our 70.s and on a fixed income. now we sill have our sycamore trees and are out $4700. and don't have the money to hire someone else. Had we just wanted our trees trimmed we could have found someone else much less expensive!"

Landscapers typically charge $25 to $50 per person per hour, which equals around $50 to $100 per hour for a two-person crew. These rates can vary depending on your location, the size of staff needed for the job, and overall job type. For example, a larger crew will be needed for structural additions and hardscaping versus planting flowers.
Landscapers typically charge $50 to $80 per person per hour, which equals around $150 to $240 per hour for a three-person crew. These rates can vary depending on your location, the size of staff needed for the job, and overall job type. For example, a larger crew will be needed for structural additions and hardscaping versus planting flowers.
When it comes to landscapers, licensing laws vary. Landscaping architects are required to be licensed in all 50 states, whereas traditional landscaping contractors are not typically required to hold a certification. You’ll likely be working with a landscaping contractor for most residential projects. If you are redesigning your whole yard or adding in hardscape features, you will work with a landscaping architect at some point during the project. Be sure to check our state licensing tool to review the local landscaper guidelines.
Licensing requirements vary from state to state and by locality. It's always best to check with your local University Extension Service to find out which services require licensing.
If you want landscaping done but want to save some money on the overall fees, you can do a few things at every stage. Some ways to save money on your landscaping include:
Repurpose existing features and materials
Softscape instead of hardscape
Choose the more inexpensive materials
DIY when you can
Buy young plants instead of mature ones
Saving money on a landscape project starts by breaking the project up in segments or phases. Start with the site work, digging or adding soils. Then plant the larger "anchor" plantings. Then follow up with the smaller fill in shrubs or flowers. Lastly, add decorative items like boulders, rock mulch and low voltage landscape lighting. This way you can budget the project based on your time and money.
If you are an avid DIYer and have plenty of time to dedicate to your yard, doing your own landscaping (or at least some of it) can be an affordable option. Projects like planting a tree, planting grass, laying sod, or building a firepit can realistically be done without the need for a landscaping professional. However, these projects can take considerable time and some landscaping knowledge, so having a pro might save you in the long run.
Projects that are dangerous, like digging with heavy machinery or removing a tree, should always be done by a professional.
Yes, landscaping and lawn care can be done by anyone. Just like baking, anyone can do it, but are the results good and worth the effort? Hiring a professional makes sense when doing complex work such as drainage, treating insects and disease, and pruning trees over 20 feet tall, etc. Some of these things require special licensing, such as pruning large trees. Getting multiple estimates from well-regarded professionals can help you decide the best choices for a DIY project or hiring a professional.
Landscaping costs around $3,500 but varies widely from $200 to $14,000. Factors that play a part in your final landscaping price tag include:
Location
Yard size
Project size
Materials
Land preparation
Type of landscaping
Considering so many factors, it’s not surprising that the overall costs can differ. A typical landscaping project is flower bed installation, which averages between $800 and $3,000. However, landscape lighting installation is a higher-end project, with a price tag of $2,000 to $6,000.
