We put a payment down before spring break. We know it rained a lot so the delay was understandable. The following week he came out here and started work when he said he would. We got into a bind because we had another vacation coming. We thought we had a little bit more than a 2 week window, and Arthur said the work would only take 1 week. We got back from Spring break, and he showed up and worked on the 12th, 13th, and 14th. Arthur isn't very good with angles. The first wall wasn't level, it was 4 inches lower on one side and wasn't perpendicular to the house. He was replacing an existing structure, all he had to do was keep the wall 18 inches from the cement slab in the three areas and it would have been fine. The wall that ran parallel with the house wasn't the right distance from the cement slab either. The walls angled toward each other. It didn't have a mitered look, it was like a broken frame. There was dirt coming through that joint, there wasn't even a railroad tie. He cut part of it away to make it look okay straight on but there was no depth. That was our first indication that he might have taken on a little bit more than he could chew. He came back on the 18th to continue the work and we confronted him the following day with our concerns with the progress of the wall. We were taking a vacation to Canada so we just asked him to leave it be until we got back. Between Willie (works with Arthur) and Jerry Richey (the carpenter that Willie bought on), the work ended up looking pretty good. They tore the wall out down to a two railroad tie height on the back wall. Jerry built back up on top of the wall to correct the work as best he could and made it meet the way it was supposed to at the top. Arthur is a nice guy, he came out every time we wanted to have a meeting with him. It was a bigger job and he didn't have the guys that he needed. He probably felt pressure that we were going on vacation soon and tried to get it done faster than he felt comfortable. For railroad tie work, I'm sure he's great, but for structural work like what we needed he might not have been the best fit for us.

Wonderful! I was referred to Mr. Shorter by a mulch/stone distributor. He came for an estimate and the job was scheduled. He called to let me know when he was coming which I appreciated. I just wanted some end of season clean-up and mulch put down. They did a great job. For the first time this year the front of my house looks and quot;groomedand quot;.

I will use Shorter's Landscaping again in the spring.

He did a very good job. There were some communication issues, but he does good work and is reasonably priced.

See abo.ve. In addition I have used him before and had the same kind of experience. He came and gave a free estimate Monday and returned on Friday (at my request as I would be home that day) and did all the work with his assistant.

I contacted Mr Shorter to obtain an estimate. He returned my call promptly and arranged to meet me at the job site. He kept his appointment with me and gave me a written estimate on the spot. I later confirmed by phone that he was to do the work, and gave him an approximate starting date. Mr. Shorter called me several times after that to confirm the schedule, and when inclement weather held up the project he called me promptly to let me know of the delay. I appreciate this very much. The job was a difficult one because of the condition and size of the property. Nevertheless he did the work in an exceptional way, working around other contractors in a professional manner. The finished product is something that I am very pleased with. Mr. Shorter's price for the materials and labor was quite fair and I will not hesitate to secure his services again for similar projects.

Mr.Shorter and his crew were polite, started and ended on scheduled days, at times they were unable to work the hours they quoted but heat and other issues played a part in that. The materials they used were as described. my one complaint is that they made decisions about the stone and gravel without consulting us. This led to a re-do which cost both them and us. I would recommend them with the caveat to have clear understanding of all components.

He is just really easy to work with. I would recommend them.

Arthur and his team were great. They worked very well together and my yard looks amazing. We had the sewer line replaced years ago and had not been able to get grass to grow since. Arthur gave us quotes for both seeding and sodding the yard. I am so glad we went with the sod, it's instant gratification and looks amazing. I will and already have recommended him to everyone.

Their work is very thorough. I was pleased.

Arthur and his people were accomodating, and did a great job for a very reasonable price. They came to work, when they said they would, and called if they thought they would be late. The yard looked really nice when they were done.

ARTHUR CAME OUT FOR ESTIMATE. PRICE WAS RIGHT. HE WAS ABOUT 2 WEEKS OUT, WHICH WAS FINE. DID WORK IN ONE DAY. TURNED OUT GREAT! I TOOK CONTROL OF MY BACK YARD AGAIN! WOULD HIRE HIM AGAIN IN A HEARTBEAT. GOOD PRICE, QUALITY WORK.

GREAT EXPERIENCE! GREAT COMMUNICATION! MR. SHORTER RETURNS CALLS IMMEDIATELY. HE CAME TO OUR HOUSE EXACTLY WHEN HE SAID HE WOULD. WHEN THEY GOT HELD UP DUE TO BAD WEATHER, HE LET ME KNOW ASAP. THE WORK WAS DONE VERY WELL. WE ARE SO PLEASED WE ARE HIRING HIM TO DO MORE WORK THIS MONTH.

I WAS EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED. REGRADING DID NOT SOLVE THE PROBLEM. WATER CONTINUED TO COLLECT IN THE BASEMENT WELL. MY HOUSE IS BRICK AND ANOTHER LANDSCAPER, WHOM I SUBSEQUENTLY CONSULTED, TOLD ME THAT BECAUSE BRICK IS POROUS, DIRT SHOULD NOT COVER THE BRICK. ALSO, THE REGRADING CAUSED ANOTHER PROBLEM - DIRECTING WATER INTO THE GARAGE.

DID GREAT WORK ON A SMALL PROJECT I'VE BEEN MEANING TO TAKE CARE OF FOR A FEW YEARS. PRICE WAS WHAT I EXPECTED, AND I HAVE NO COMPLAINTS.

OUTSTANDING, PROFESSIONAL WORK, AND A VERY REASONABLE PRICE. COMPLETED THE WORK IN A VERY TIMELY MANNER AND HIGHLY SKILLED WORKMANSHIP. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND.
