Our goal is to help our clients make informed decisions concerning the purchase of their home or investment property. Our fees are mid-range but after seeing the thoroughness and time we spend on a property, our clients generally agree that they get much more than their money's worth. We strive to provide the most thorough professional home inspections in the business. We also provide radon testing, well and septic inspections, and mold sampling. Our inspections typically require 3-4 hours on site but we give the home as much time as it takes. We take digital photos of significant findings and include a caption beside of each photo describing the issue. Then, we provide a timely professional computer generated inspection report. We work outside the realtor network and do not rely on the referrals of realtors. A large percentage of our business is referrals from previous clients and repeat clients. We work all central Indiana from Lafayette, all Indy, to Terre Haute, Bloomington, Columbus, Bedford, and Mitchell. NO TRAVEL CHARGE. Our clients have described Ron's thoroughness as "anal retentive." "I wish I could give 0 stars, honestly. The house flippers that we bought the home from used Radon Environmental during the flip in January to solve the radon mitigation issues in the slab following a different buyer being scared off by the high radon levels. By the time we walked through the house with the inspector in February, the radon levels MORE THAN DOUBLED (over 10 pCi/L, for those wondering.) It was then that I began to be skeptical of Radon Environmental, so I negotiated in our closing contract for the house flippers to pay for everything. This, unfortunately, made me contractually obligated to use Radon Environmental. Trust me, I tried to convince the house flippers to switch companies. To make long stories short, Patrick (technician) made 3 mistakes in the house which made those radon levels spike that high for A MONTH. Each time, Scott (manager-ish) had to come fix Patrick's mistakes. Of course, the owner was difficult to reach (only responds to customers via email, per his office staff) and when he did reach out via phone following my prompting, he made nothing but excuses for Patrick. I am, once again, so grateful that I was not on the hook for cost as they did the house flippers little favors when it came to billing. TLDR; there are better radon companies out there, and I found more than a few in the area with Better Business Bureau accreditations, among other accolades. Give those companies your business instead of these people who turned a small radon issue into a 6 month one. If you do use this company, don't let Patrick near your home."

Radon enters your home when warm air begins to rise and exits through the roof, creating a vacuum that pulls cooler air from under the foundation. Part of that air is radon, which is an invisible, odorless gas that develops naturally when radioactive particles are deep within the ground. Those particles usually come from decaying matter in soil and rocks.

Testing typically costs between $150 and $500, depending on the method used and the number of areas tested.

You'll need to test your home for radon after installing the mitigation system, then again every two years. If radon remains elevated, contact a licensed radon professional, either the contractor who installed the system or a different one, and have them evaluate the system. They may need to make some changes to improve its effectiveness and performance.

A DIY kit can lessen the sting that comes with paying for a professional assessment, but these comprehensive tests are true lifesavers. Inspectors are more likely to catch all of the pollutants and hazards in your air. Plus, you’ll still need a professional to verify and act on your DIY test results. 

Some kits don’t include tests for certain air pollutants or only detect their presence, but not their levels (i.e., mold spores). If you’re willing to shell out money for a DIY kit, it’s usually better to stretch your budget slightly higher for a more detailed assessment.
