  I needed a bedframe for my guest bedroom that reflected my vintage, late 1950's -early 1960's, style. Craig made this possible by bringing this antique back to life. This bed made my guest bedroom look like a 1960 Hilton Hotel room! He was very kind, down-to-earth and most of all added a human touch to his service and professionalism. The over all experience went very well. All too often we hear about negative feedback. I appreciate Angie's List offering of a platform to encourage positive and truthful feedback.   Craig was truly an artist when it came to taking, what I thought couldn't be saved, a severally damaged piece of furniture and returned it to what it must've looked like when it was built. The piece was painted black at some point before I purchased it. Craig stripped it and brought the original wood center stage. He also added new notions for the pulls and created two new doors that were missing from the bottom piece. He also added some shelves, per my request, to make this piece more functional since I wouldn't be using it as a closet. It took a no time at all. His delivery service was great, he placed it exactly where I wanted it in my home. I'm so glad that there are still small business owners that are truly passionate about what they doshow more

  Work was beautiful! Very knowledgeable and professional. Only problem was that there is a company policy of a $125 minimum charge--which was never mentioned or explained. We are not dissatisfied with that charge as we were pleased with the work done, but the non-disclosure was a nasty surprise.

  We were very pleased with our experience. The table is now better than it was when it was brand new. Tim, the owner, was very good in explaining what they were going to be doing and why. He showed up on time to inspect the piece, e-mailed an estimate in a few days. The only very minor complaint that I had with him, and it was very minor, was that when he originally talked to us he gave us an estimate of about how long it would take. We wanted to delay the work for about a month, which was fine with him, but then it took longer to finish than he had originally said. My guess is that his work load had changed. I think that he may have forgotten what he originally said. I had to check on the progress and delivery date, would have preferred that he let me know. Our job was probably a fairly simple one to perform but based on the care that they took with ours I could imagine how they would handle a more extensive project.   I used the Furniture Workshop several years ago when I needed a Mission cherry bed frame reglued. They picked up and delivered the frame, the work done was high quality, promptly completed, and very reasonably priced. So when the bottom of a drawer of an antique desk that has been passed down 4 generations of my family fell apart, I knew who to call. I dropped the drawer off on a Monday around 1:00 pm, and they had it fixed by 4:00 pm. The drawer slid right back into place.   Jeff came out to the house to look at the vanity and took it with him that day. We agreed that he would also install a new mirror. He gave me an estimate and indicated that if he could not repair the existing sliders he would have to build new ones but would call with a revised estimate. The original sliders could be repaired so there was no revised estimate. Three weeks later the piece was repaired and delivered. I was impressed with his knowledge of antique furniture and his appreciation for the piece. I was thrilled that the work did not take more than 3 weeks.   We had purchased a dining room set which had pet damage on two of the chairs. The spindles had been chewed and there were some other scratches. The team at Monroe Furniture Restoration picked up the chairs at our place and brought them back to their workshop for repairs. Their work was excellent, and was completed within the time frame they had told us. The replaces spindles are virtually indistinguishable from the ones in the rest of the set, such that you would not be able to tell which were the two chairs that had to be repaired (other than perhaps because they now look the nicest of the 6!). We would definitely recommend them to others, and in fact will be using them in the future for doing similar refinishing and scratch fixing for the dining table itself, and likely other wood furnishings in the houseshow more
