We are now ALW Construction, LLC. We have adjusted our name. Due to the fact that we have started a commercial division of our company. We still have same management, same professional attitude, and same great service. Thank you.

TOP QUALITY MATERIALS A CONTRACTOR YOU CAN TRUST What does this mean? It means you can trust us to stand behind our work, and we have no problem doing just that- because we do it right the first time. Our crews are experienced, trained, and educated to offer you the best in service and professionalism. Roofers and contractors are a dime a dozen, but quality ones just are not. We are fully licensed, bonded and insured, which means you can count on us and know your dealing with a good, reputable company.

"Wallace construction came to my door after seeing shingles missing on my roof. Unlike the fly by night contractors that typically do this approach, Denise was very friendly, had a logo shirt and truck and was very professional. They helped us with our insurance adjuster to pay for a good portion of the new roof when I didn't even realize it was a possibility. They offered great communication which to me is key. Everything was accomplished in a timely and professional manner. Our new roof looks great and definitely improved our curb appeal. Will use for future projects, and I even have a few in mind."

"The owner came to look at and he is very knowledgeable by talking about what siding is and the color is, and he took extra effort to find the exact sidling which is not used commonly. The workers did a great job, no mess left. I'll use this company again for other things need to be done."

Roof Ice and Snow Removal questions, answered by experts

Removing snow from your roof can help prevent ice dams, but the best thing to do is address insulation issues in your attic. If you do decide to remove the snow manually, you should always use a roof rake rather than a shovel. You shouldn’t climb your snowy roof in any circumstance, and roof rake allows you to remove the snow from the ground or a ladder. For the best results, remove snow as soon as possible after it falls.

A common mistake is you can let snow melt naturally in a window well. However, snow buildup in the well can damage your window frames and walls. The melting snow also poses risks of water damage as it may leak through into the basement. It’s important to shovel snow out of your window wells before too much snow is piled in there.

Heavy amounts of snow could be a problem. In many climates, lots of snow on your rooftop can lead to freeze-thaw cycle that create ice dams, which can damage rooftops. But if you’re using shingle clips, this snow poses an additional problem: As it melts and freezes, it can easily dislodge clips you’ve placed on your roof.

You can clean snow off your roof after a fresh snowfall while it’s still lightweight, but brushing off snow can also dislodge your clips. If you get a lot of snow, then roof clips become less viable.

It is not advisable to use salt on your roof to prevent or remove ice dams. It’s not only mostly ineffective but can also cause serious damage to your roof itself. Salt can rust metal, damage masonry, pit shingles, and cause runoff that’s damaging to plants and animals.

Whether or not an annual snow removal contract is worth it depends mainly on location. If you live in an area with frequent heavy snowfall, a yearly contract could be better than paying per clearing. If you live in an area where it only snows a few times a year, paying per snowstorm may be a better option.
