"We had the Geek Squad out 3 times to repair our dishwasher. It was worse after each visit. The 4th time I called them to try and get it done again they said that our warranty had ran out. Seemed reasonable until the technician indicated he would only clean the vent, not the dryer, and wanted more money for a new dryer hose and another inspection. $500 - half the cost of a new dryer. Didn't go the whole route... Not saying it was a scam but they are not cheap and beware the upselling - not happy...."

FedEx tracking showed the package at their facility for 8 days without moving beginning on 10/15. Called FedEx 3 times. Each time they said they cannot find package and I have to contact shipper. Shipper has to make a claim, they will not mark it as lost. Called Appliance Parts Pros twice. Each time they say FedEx has to mark package lost before they will do anything. They also state they have to wait 14 days from them before doing anything because of their contract with FedEx. I don't care about their contract, I want what was ordered and paid for. Just going in circles with them and FedEX. If they shipped after 14 days it would be 22 days from that point, 32 days from the date of order if they shipped it that day. Many homeowners wonder if a garbage disposal is necessary with a dishwasher. After all, many dishwashers are powerful enough to handle bits of food with no issues.  

Still, your dishwasher should not act as a replacement for a disposal. Subjecting your dishwasher to continuous leftovers could lead to major clogs. If you don’t want a garbage disposal in your kitchen, simply scrape away any extra food into your trash can or compost pile.

Limescale can build up outside your dishwasher if you live in a home with hard tap water. Any household surface exposed to water and heat may have unsightly limescale deposits, including kettles for boiling water, sinks, countertops, toilets, taps, tubs, shower doors, glassware, and aquariums. Glass, laminate, porcelain, granite, and other similar surfaces can all have limescale.

Regular use helps keep interior dishwasher parts functioning properly and the interior clean. Try to run your machine at least once every two weeks as part of your dishwasher cleaning schedule.

Every six months, running two cups of white vinegar through your dishwasher (place the vinegar where you put detergent) will help deep clean the unit to boost performance.

To get rid of standing water in your dishwasher, first try activating the drain mechanism by pressing and holding the cancel button for at least three seconds. If that doesn’t work, you’ll need to do some troubleshooting to drain the standing water from the dishwasher. This will involve shutting off the power, then scooping out the water, cleaning the drain filter, and clearing the air gap. You’ll also want to run the garbage disposal and check the drain hose for clogs.
