"Unfortunately, the sales rep did not measure correctly. The installer caught the mistake and it became a two day job. But they gave a discount when I asked for one and the installer did a good job. I am waiting to see if any carpet bubbles up after 6 months."

"This company did such a fantastic job! Efficient and budget friendly!! I had a lot of uneven areas on my floors that I expected to still show through. The team was able to make the floors look completely even and natural- they look BRAND NEW. The crew was very friendly and walked me through the process of what they were planning on doing, timeline, etc. They made me feel very comfortable being in my house without me there and they kept me in the loop through out the process. I recommend this company to anyone that needs any type of flooring work done!"

Carpet Installation questions, answered by experts

It is not recommended to install or stretch a carpet without a power stretcher. Skipping essential tools like a power stretcher and a knee kicker will likely result in an improper installation, leaving you with wrinkles, creases, and an unappealing final look. While a knee kicker can provide some limited stretching for thinner carpets, it is not a proper substitute. Attempting to stretch a carpet by hand or with homemade tools can also shorten its lifespan. For the best results, you should buy or rent a stretcher. If you do not want to use a stretcher, it is better to hire a professional for the installation.

Carpets in earthy, neutral shades should go with everything. Specifically, colors like beige, cream, and gray pair well with other neutrals and more vibrant colors. If you’re concerned about your carpet clashing with your walls or furniture, stay away from loud colors and complicated patterns, which could distract from the rest of your decor.

Carpet installation costs include carpet type (material, weave), room size, subfloor preparation, and labor costs. Getting multiple quotes provides a clearer picture of expected expenses.

The difference between a 40-oz. and 60-oz. carpet is the carpet face weight, meaning the 60-oz. carpet weighs 20 ounces more per square yard. When looking at two similar carpets of the same material and type, the 60-oz. carpet face weight likely indicates higher quality and more durability due to heavier carpet fibers.

It’s a good idea to install a rug pad under the carpet for your stairs. To make the pad fit, you’ll need to cut one section for each stair tread that’s about one inch narrower than the stair runner so that it won’t be visible once the carpet is installed on top.
