"I had an absolutely terrible experience with Widmer’s Area Rug Cleaners. I entrusted them with 2 large area rugs for professional cleaning, and they managed to ruin one of them. When I finally received my rugs back after 6 weeks—far beyond the promised 2-3 weeks—I was horrified to find bright blue spots all over one of the rugs. When I contacted the company about this issue, they had the audacity to claim that these spots were already there before they took my rugs. This is an outright lie. My rugs were in excellent condition, without any blue spots, before I handed them over for cleaning. The delay in returning my rugs and the blatant dishonesty about the damage they caused are unacceptable. "Purchased a cord of “seasoned” wood through Facebook in Feb 2025. Unfortunately it wasn’t seasoned, and doesn’t burn unless the fireplace or flue is open. It just smolders and turns black. Sap runs out and in a few places it carmelized on my fireplace. I reached out through Facebook immediately and never heard back from him. I sent him pictures to show how wet the wood was, and got no response. When I got to the center of the pile this week, there were huge dead bugs all over inside the wood, and those pieces appeared to be rotten. I know it was peak cold season and wood was in high demand, but I still expected to get what was advertised- seasoned firewood not wet firewood and firewood filled with bugs."

Acclimating laminate flooring cannot be rushed. Laminate flooring needs at least 48 hours to acclimate properly to its new environment, and being patient during this time can make installation go smoother because you will not be dealing with boards that have expanded or contracted during the shipping process. You will also be less likely to damage the boards during installation.

Decent carpet will last around 10 years on stairs. Some less durable carpets, like polyester, will only last five years on stairs. The ideal carpet, like wool or nylon, can last about 15 to 25 years. You’ll know when to replace it when it starts wearing down. You may have to replace it sooner if it's stained, whether due to water damage or pets.

When it comes to flooring installers, licensing laws vary from state to state. Even if your state doesn’t require your flooring installer to have a license, your municipality or city might, so it’s a good idea to check with your town before getting started.
