"The owner and the crew arrived 5 mins. before the scheduled time. The owner called to let us know that they were ready to begin. While on the phone, I spoke to him about it being garbage collection day in our alley where he had to park his trucks.  He stated, "Not a problem!" He spoke with the garbage crew and driver on the next block. Within in 10 mins.,the garbage was being collected. My neighbors and I did not miss our collection.

The next thing I knew, the crew had set up and limbs began to be removed. Our maple tree was huge. The tree was taller than the three story apartment across the street. They started at 7:00 a.m. and it was all down by noon. They cleared and cleaned my property. The debris in the alley was swept and removed.

I was very pleased to have chosen this company. They were professional on every level.

Garbage Collection questions, answered by experts

Never put glass in the garbage disposal. It can damage your disposal or eject shards of glass out of the disposal and cause injury. If you get broken glass in your garbage disposal, turn it off and cut the power from the breaker, use a tool like pliers or tongs to remove the glass, and use a wet-dry vacuum to remove the remaining glass pieces. If you can’t access the disposal safely, call a garbage disposal repair pro.

Your garbage disposal is not draining because it might have a clog due to food waste, a foreign object, grease, oil, fat, or it may have a broken motor. When water doesn't flush out of the disposal, that's a key sign that your disposal has a clog or needs repair.

Most garbage disposals have a reset button that can be triggered with a tool as simple and accessible as your index finger. That said, if you need to perform a more in-depth troubleshooting step, like manually moving the arms inside the unit or rotating the impeller plate, a hex wrench is the most common tool you’ll need. Most garbage disposals come with a hex wrench.

These appliances do unscrew, but you need to disconnect everything properly when you replace your garbage disposal. Make sure you shut the power off to the area first and check that it’s off with a voltage detector. Disconnect the main drain line and P-trap, and then disconnect the dishwasher drain line if you have one connected. You can then unscrew your garbage disposal using a disposal wrench. Just make sure you disconnect the electrical lines before removing your appliance.

Once you have your garbage disposal disconnected, you can remove the mounting bracket by unscrewing the bolts that are holding the bracket. You can back them out just enough to pop off the snap ring, which prevents the bottom portion of the bracket from disconnecting from the top when you unscrew the bolts. Use a regular screwdriver to pop off the snap ring, and the rest of the components should fall off by themselves.
