"Harold Blazeks did a wonderful job in repairing our shades. Their price was fair and he completed the repairs in 1 hour. Marilyn called in the morning and gave us a time of 2:30PM and he arrived at 2:31PM. We would recommend the Blazers for Hunter Douglas repairs anytime. Thank you Don & Noel Thomson St. Charles Il."

"I hired a company to install a screen door, and they showed up on time, explained my options clearly, and completed the job quickly. The door fits perfectly and opens smoothly, and the installer even cleaned up everything before leaving. The price was a bit higher than I expected, but the quality and professionalism made it worth it."

"They did a really nice job matching custom blinds that we already had on other windows. The blinds were pretty expensive and took longer than I would have liked â months. The installer was professional and did an outstanding job. The one issue was the door measurement was incorrect and caused additional delay to complete the job. Contributing to the delay was that the blinds were manufactured overseas. Now that itâ s finished, I love the blinds."

FAQs for window screen repair projects in Wheeling, IL

Whether you should repair or replace your window screens depends on the severity of the damage and the screen’s age. For large tears or holes or multiple points of damage, replacing your screen may be more cost-effective than attempting to repair the damage. If your screens are more than 10 years old, they may continue to give you issues after repair, so it’s likely worth replacing them. We recommend hiring a local screen repair technician, as they will have tools on hand for a repair or replacement and can recommend the best course of action.

In most cases, custom window treatments are well worth the investment. Custom window treatments not only elevate your curb appeal and make your home more visually pleasing inside, but they also often do a better job of boosting your home’s energy efficiency than non-custom treatments, and they usually last longer. Plus, specialty window treatments can increase your home value if maintained well, so your investment is more worthwhile in the long run in most cases, too.

It’s possible to make minor screen repairs yourself using a waterproof adhesive for small tears or a screen patch kit for larger tears and holes. However, it’s usually a better option to call in a professional window technician. It’s very easy to use too much waterproof glue, resulting in a messy appearance that might demand a full replacement anyway. A screen repair technician will not only be able to carry out clean repairs and patches that aren’t obvious, but they can also let you know if replacing your screen is a more cost-effective option.

Window screen repair costs around $310 on average, ranging from $100 to $480, depending on material, the type of window screen, the window size, the accessibility of the window, and whether you need to replace the window screen frame. You can save money on window screen repair costs by using a more affordable material like vinyl or fiberglass, rescreening instead of replacing them, and swapping multiple screens at once to combine labor costs.

Custom window treatments cost around $900 per window, and prices usually fall between $150 and $4,800. Your total will depend on many factors, including the type of window treatment, the amount and size of the windows, your home’s location, and the labor cost. Blinds and shutters tend to be the most affordable custom window treatments at $600 to $2,700, and the most expensive options are valances, drapes, curtains, and estate shutters, costing up to $3,000.
