"From start to finish, The Grout Medic completely exceeded our expectations. And I'll tell you why... Neil, the job estimator, was our first point of contact. He is extremely knowledgeable, a joy to work with, definitely loves his job, and is laser focused on providing total customer satisfaction. If you have him come out and do a free estimate for you, be prepared to learn what can turn a good shower into a moldy mess, with tile damage, leaks, bad smells and more! This will not be a generic sales call. Rest assured that the purpose of Neil's visit will be to diagnose the specific causes of your grout/tile concerns, and to propose a truly professional well-informed and customized solution to resolve the issues. If you think this sounds kind of over-the-top, ask Neil about the plague of many showers: Blocked weep holes. You will then begin to understand the depths of his knowledge. In our case the job was done exactly as proposed, by a very talented and capable gentleman named Harry. He worked alone as this was a small job, but he knew exactly what he was doing, just as you'd expect from an experienced professional. He was also supported throughout the workday by Neil who popped in frequently to make sure all was going according to plan. Neil also remained available by phone at all times, which was a big plus. The pricing for the service was calculated as part of a very detailed and accurately itemized proposal. At the end of the job, we felt that the excellent quality of service we received was totally in line with the pricing. In fact, I think we came out ahead... There were quite a few unexpected little extras that came along with the job as a much appreciated surprise. For example, all of our glass shower doors and chrome hardware were left crystal clean and beautifully polished. Plus, the old yellowed shower door seal strips were removed, with new ones trimmed to size and replaced. All of this at no extra cost! Note: we provided the replacement door seal strips. You will be quite impressed with The Grout Medic's custom steam cleaning equipment. It's nothing like a traditional carpet cleaner! And finally, all the cleaning products they use have a wonderful, fresh scent that puts many commercially available cleaning products to shame. So go ahead, call The Grout Medic! We're so glad we did."

"Maurizio explained the entire job including pricing, and timeline. He gave us options on how we wanted our new backslash to look. Tony and Sal are true artists when it came to the install. They showed up on time, worked hard, and actually enjoyed their work. The job was finished on time, and on budget. I would highly recommend this company for any tile work that you may need."

"The individuals that came out and worked on the shower stall, did a great job and was very professional. They cleaned up after themselves and completed the job a lot faster and better than my wife & I could have. I would highly recommend them to my friends and family members. We have recommended them to our real estate agent incase she needs to recommend someone in the future."

"Scheduling was easy. Louie arrived on time and worked uninterrupted until the job was complete. He made a raggedy-looking old tub look very nice, and presentable, in order to sell my condo. He was friendly, respectful of my things/home, and just generally a professional. Cleaning tile, regrouting and caulking - I'm pleased with the end result and give my experience with Lake Shore Restoration five stars."

Grout Tile Cleaners questions, answered by experts

Housekeepers use a range of products to clean bathrooms, including vinegar, all-purpose spray, toilet bowl cleaner, and glass cleaner. Some house cleaners use bleach products, while others may provide an option for all-natural products. You can certainly speak to your cleaning pro to discuss which products you prefer they use in your bathroom.

If you are wondering how to get rid of mold in your shower or bathroom, substances like dish soap, vinegar, hydrogen peroxide, and rubbing alcohol all can potentially do the job. You also could create a mixture of bleach and water to remove the mold, but be very careful never to mix bleach with other cleaning agents. Only mix bleach with water. Exposing bleach to other cleansers could cause a release of extremely dangerous chlorine gas.

Yes, it is safe to clean silicone caulk with bleach, but proceed with caution and don’t use bleach as part of your regular maintenance cleaning. Always wear protective gear like gloves and a mask, and ensure the area is well-ventilated to avoid inhaling fumes. Never mix bleach with other cleaning products, especially those containing ammonia, because this can create hazardous fumes. Properly used, bleach effectively and safely removes mold and mildew from silicone caulk in severe cases.

Now that you know the true pleasure of a squeaky-clean floor, you’re probably wondering how to keep floors clean between mop days. Here are the best tips to keep your floor looking spotless:

  • Give floors a quick daily swipe with a microfiber mop.

  • Keep a spray bottle of your cleaning solution on hand to use as needed.

  • Sweep daily and vacuum once or twice a week.

  • Clean up spills and messes as soon as they happen.

  • Place a doormat at each entrance to your home to reduce mud tracking.

  • Consider enforcing a “no shoes inside” policy.

  • Wash your pet’s paws before letting them back inside.

Professionals use various tools and cleaning solutions based on the type of floor they’re cleaning. They often use industrial steam cleaners to pull debris out of the carpet. For localized stains, they may use a commercial cleaner or a mixture of water, vinegar, and dish soap. For tile, they’ll typically use dish soap and hot water, plus a mixture of baking soda and hot water for the grout. For cleaning wood floors, they might use a low-heat steamer, a mop with an oil wood floor cleaner, or a mixture of hot water, vinegar, and lemon juice.
