"The contracted the work off to a third party. Jon took longer than expected. The windows was installed pretty good from the looks. Communication could have been better with knowing the job will take longer and what types of trims I wanted for the windows. As the contractor that was hired for this job by this company. Did a good job with putting up decent trim. As for the new windows they look great. I purchased the myself and hired sentri homes to install them. I will need to have a my siding on my house redone to be closer to the new windows so the gaps are not so obvious. That was not expected at first. But from old storm windows and not knowing how they were put in originally. There was some unknown things that was learned from the job being completed. I will have the siding of the house slightly done to match really good for what I wanted later on. My only concern is better communication with sentri homes. Overall they were great when I did talk to them."

"I've been working with John and his sub contractors on this property since August of 2013, and they have been patient, responsive, and transparent throughout, especially appreciated when my property insurance had to get involved and they worked with them to get them details, quotes, and insight, as well as being a much-needed professional advocate that I never would have been able to accomplish on my own. I have no doubt that John's professionalism helped speed the process along.
When I realized I would have to switch contractors from my first GC, out of everyone I called, John was the only one who brought someone with him for a second opinion on his assumptions, and even sent additional subs out to ensure the accuracy of the quote. "We started working with IDEA back in the fall of 2010 for designs for a remodel/addition to our 1950's Cape Cod.  The designs were done by one of the original partners of the firm and we could not have been more pleased.  He really took into account our desire to maintain the overall feel of the house and the charm as well as creative ways to re-purpose existing space.
Construction on the house started in April of 2011 and was originally supposed to take 6 months.  We ended up being out of our house for 7 months but most of the delays were due to weather issues at the very beginning of the project.  Also, mid-way through the project, Peter (the architect who did our drawings) left the company to move out of the country.  Marty and Angela did scramble at first trying to pick up the pieces in Peter's absence but eventually, things sorted themselves out and we honestly have nothing but good things to say about them!  They were incredibly responsive to our requests and concerns, Angela provided excellent guidance with design, color, style etc. on decisions that we easily could have been overwhelmed with.  She has a wonderful taste level!  Any time we had issues with how construction was progressing, Marty quickly responded, met with us and made sure things were fixed to our satisfaction.  He is also one of the genuinely nicest people we have ever met!  
It's been several months now since the project has been completed and we could not be more pleased.  Any kind of construction/remodeling on your house is stressful but in retrospect, Marty and Angela were great to work with and we would definitely recommend them, and IDEA to anyone considering a remodel or addition.  They were great!"

"This is my second project with Fil and Thor Build. The idea to construct a mezzanine was something that I had envisioned when I first saw my condo. I showed Fil my ideas on paper along with photos of how I wanted everything to look. Fil ran with it and brought it to fruition. Everything turned out even better than how I had envisioned. During the project, I requested some modifications which Fil gladly accommodated; he even created a custom door for me that is absolutely stunning - the quality work of artisans! To top it all off, this project was completed while I was 600 miles away. I had to rely strictly on photos and good communication. I had tons of questions during the construction phase and I'm sure I must've drove Fil crazy at times. However he was always professional and answered all of my questions and addressed any concerns that I had. "Shawn and his team made the whole process so easy! They got the most out of my insurance claim and I didn't have to fight with my insurance co. they handled it all. In addition their construction work was beautiful! Have received many compliments from neighbors about quality of work. They were incredible . I left for work in morning and by the time I got home I had a new roof. Not a scrap showing anyone had been there. Same with siding and gutters. Also important to me,if I had questions somebody was always on other side of the phone!"

"Tom installed a beautiful ceramic floor in my kitchen.  He guided me and made recommendations.  His estimate of the number of tiles was exactly 4 boxes with a half a tile leftover.  His 18 years of experience is apparent in his meticulous work ethic.  After seeing all the measuring (twice) and cutting I witness, I'm so glad I did not attempt to install the tiles myself.

"Robert did a great job building a new staircase to replace one that was uneven and not sturdy. He helped us with the design and picking materials and stain to match the look of the rest of our house. He also fixed a support post that was rotting to make our home safe. His crew repaired drywall and painted the rooms to make this unfinished section of our home look complete. I will definitely hire Robert again for future remodeling projects."
