Fogarty was open to discussing a wide range of possible repairs/replacements. He helped us pick a very nice replacement door and window set. He also worked with us to address the little fit/finish issues that always arise during this type of project. We were very satisfied with the quality of the work and with the relationship with him.
Description of Work: Replaced a rotted rear French door, re-roofed a small dormer over that door and fixed a water ingress problem.

John and his team were fantastic. We were considering purchasing a home and found out it had a laundry list of city violations that would need to be corrected before we could move in. He and his team met with us on three separate occasions to walk through the property, look at the work that needed to be completed, and gave us several estimates for all the work. They were prompt, professional, and thorough, and took the time to answer all of our questions and create detailed estimates with different options for us. Unfortunately, it was just going to be too much money to fix the house and we ended up backing out of the purchase contract, but we will definitely call Fogarty Home Improvement first for any future need.
Description of Work: Fogarty Home Improvement provided us with estimates for an assortment of repairs/remodeling, both major and minor, to a house we were considering purchasing. Services estimated included kitchen remodeling, new staircase, attic and basement buildout and finishing, electrical and plumbing work.

John and his crew were very professional, polite and friendly. They were prompt and patient when we couldn't make up our minds on some things and even changed the way we asked for it. They just smiled and said and quot;no problemand quot;. We like their work and are about ready to have them do our main bathroom. Would recommend highly. Forward a few weeks - we have John currently remodeling our main bath.
Description of Work: Gutted the master bath, tore out shower tile and paneled walls, repaired subflooring, installed materials and fixtures supplied by us, ie tile in shower and floor. installed bead board on walls. centered existing plumbing in shower and installed new shower head and hand held shower, added grab bar at shower entrance and in shower. Installed the toilet and new sink with vanity, light bar, medicine cabinet and over the toilet cabinet. Installed new exhaust fan, updated electric at wall and to circuit breaker. Installed decorative trim around window and door and baseboard. Primed and painted walls, bead board and all trim and finished off by hanging new blinds and mirror on back of door.

Overall, we had a very positive experience and we are extremely satisfied with the work done by Fogarty Home Improvement. The project took about 5 months to complete and throughout the duration, it was very comforting to know that this unique project was in John’s very capable hands. John handled everything, start to finish, as if he’s done it a thousand times. John always promptly replied to our inquiries (made via emails, phone calls and text). Most importantly, he completed the project on budget and on time. He was very accommodating to our decisions to add or change things along the way. We never felt pressured to make a quick decision, and he offered some great ideas which we had not previously considered. We interviewed a several General Contractors before selecting Fogarty Home Improvement and have never once doubted that we made the right choice. If we ever have other home improvement projects, we will certainly go right back to John. We've been in this home for over 15 years and have had many contractors come through to work on various things. John by far has been the best among them all. As family and friends come by and see our lovely new “old” home, we are quick to let them know about Fogarty Home Improvement.
Description of Work: Our project was unique and a rather large one which nearly replicated building a new house. We have the same "old" house which was slab on grade, but now it sits about four feet higher. Services performed by Fogarty Home Improvement included all the prep work for the actual “house-lift”, then some work while the house was suspended up, followed by more work once the house was placed back down on its new foundation wall. Prep work: removing heating/cooling systems, removing hot water heater, removing all bathroom plumbing fixtures, kitchen and laundry room sinks and cabinets. Removing stone on exterior of house, demo of all-seasons room, tear down of brick chimney. Cutting all interior walls so that steel beams could lift the house. Work while house was still “up”: Building new concrete foundation wall for house, building floor joists, extending all water lines, electrical and gas lines to accommodate house's new height. Once house was on its new foundation: Building new all-seasons’ room with vaulted ceiling, installing new exterior siding, installing stone veneer to bottom of house exterior. Installing gutters and new fascia. Building surround for new gas fireplace, installing drywall and trim throughout the house, replacing all windows as well as all interior and exterior doors. Installing new hardwood floors throughout house (installing tile floor in bathrooms and laundry room). Re-installing all bathrooms’ plumbing fixtures, kitchen and laundry room sink and cabinets. Building front porch deck and rear decks. Installing insulation in new crawl space. Installation of new garage door.

My overall experience was very positive. I will not hesitate to call Fogarty for more quotes in the future and I highly recommend the quality of work and his personal customer service.
Description of Work: The reasson I called Fogarty was because my vinyl fencing around my patio was falling down due to high winds and rotting wooden posts. The Vinyl fence repair consisted of removal of 5 4x4 rotting wooded posts and the respective concrete footings. New posts and new sleeves were installed with the existing vinyl fencing. Also, I had new vinyl siding was on my 2 1/2 car detached garage. John quoted for both repainting and siding. I opted for the siding to help eliminate yearly maintenance. The siding cost was a little higher then repainting and a couple of minor repairs. I am very glad I decided on the siding. In addition, a new wooden dog eared fence, approximately 6 feet long replaced an old rotting fence that was very old. Finally, a new fence was installed around the entrance to my back entrance, which has about 5 or 6 steps down to the back door. I had interest in wrought iron but John showed me an alternative that looks like like iron but I bellieve is also vinyl with an internal steel bracing. I am very happy with all the work that was done. It all looks great. John was great with his follow up either on the phone or in person, I may be contacting him again very soon regarding getting a quote for some interior work, and possibly roof replacement.

This is an unfinished story.
Description of Work: Fogarty Home Improvement provided me with a proposal to renovate a 3 flat building along with the tedious documents required for a 203K renovation loan. John Fogarty refined the proposal to my specifications and submitted it on time. He kept the proposal to my loan budget and gave me options for the things I still want to do. Although, FHI has not started my project yet, I feel confident that it will go well. Keep you posted.

I did my home renovations through the 203K loan program. John worked well with the bank getting the paperwork submitted correctly and in a timely manner as well as handling the inspections during construction. My renovations included demolition and complete remodel of the kitchen and bathroom and opening the kitchen wall into the dining room. The job was completed within agreed upon budget and timeline. John and his team offered me suggestion to cut costs and improve my plan. The day to day communication was excellent and the team was professional and trust worthy. Honest, reliable and outstanding craftsmanship. I highly recommend John and his team.

.John and all of the people he works with were excellent. He was always available to answer any questions or address concerns that myself or my wife had. His communication with us was excellent. He always was in constant contact to make sure everything was going smoothly or let us know of a delay or schedule change etc. The quality of his work speaks for itself. Just like me he is a perfectionist and does not settle for anything less than perfect. If it doesn't look right or has an idea to make something look better he is quick to bring it to our attention and gets it done in a timely manner. My wife and I cannot thank John and his crew, especially Lee, enough for giving us a beautiful kitchen and installing new engineered hardwood floors. We will enjoy them for many years to come. Hire Fogarty Home Improvement, you will not be disappointed or go broke.
Description of Work: Demolition of entire kitchen. Redesign kitchen to maximize a somewhat small space. Lay new engineered hardwood floor throughout entire first level. Build new half wall for breakfast bar. Extend existing wall out to make room for refridgerator. Drywall over second entryway into kitchen. Eliminate soffits and re-route HVAC supplies and returns. Add electrical and move electrical to better serve design. Build and drywall new wall for pantry. Install new cabinets and accessories as needed. We used our own plumber but John kept in communication with him.

Fogarty Home Improvement helped my husband and I complete a project in our basement. Not only was the price unbeaten by any other contractor, but John was great about following up with us and answering any questions we had while we got our quotes together. Once we began the work with FHI, everything was done in a timely and practical manner and John kept us involved in deciding details along the way. He was accommodating to our schedules and very flexible when we made a few changes during the project. The entire project was complete in just a few weeks and it looks fantastic. Aside from quality workmanship, the biggest standout for me was how good John was about communicating. I am an email junkie and John was very prompt in responding to questions and concerns along the way. It was nice to know that in addition to getting the basement we envisioned, we were also treated respectfully and received great customer service (a trait that I found lacking in most of the other contractors I dealt with when getting quotes). I would recommend FHI for anything and would gladly use the company in the future should we need help with any projects down the road.
Description of Work: FHI helped my husband and I finish our basement. The project involved: building a riser for a theater room, insulation, drywall, electrical, drop ceiling, doors and trim (for the theater, a pantry, and an office).

The entire job took approximately one month. I did the demo, so John and crew arrived on time on Monday morning and immediately began the plumbing and removal of two walls. The first week was tough as the attic was open while hangers were applied to the joists and the attic entry was moved. In that first week, the electrical sub began to run new lines for lighting as well as for the oven, microwave and vent, dishwasher et al. By week two, the attic was closed, the drywall was up and the drywall finisher had finshed mudding, taping and sanding. By week three, the electric was complete and the plumbing was done. The flooring had arrived by then and the installer spent much of that week laying the slate. Finally, on week three, most of the cabinets were installed, although an ordering error from the cabinet store created a delay in installation. During week three, some of the appliances were delivered and installed. On week four, the granite was installed, the remaining cabinets and appliances were installed, trim was added and other small jobs were completed. John was then paid, but did return a couple of weeks later to install cabinet hardware and remaining trim since those items were still on order when the bulk of the job was finished. Overall, I think John did an outstanding job and would not hesitte to recommend him to anyone. He even made friends with both of my dogs who adore him and miss seeing him daily!
Description of Work: Services include a gut renovation of kitchen including reconfiguration and installation of new cabinets, removal of tweo walls, creation of a "utility closet" housing mechanicals and washer/dryer, new plumbing, electric and gaslines, new lighting (can lights, work area and pendants), new slate flooring in kitchen, livingroom and hall, installation of new back door and storm door, new trim in kitchen and livingroom, reinforcemnt of attic joists, creation of new attic entry, new granite countertops and more. Demo, painting, permits, dumpster and storage fees, and tile backsplash, and appliances were provided by me sdo those costs are not included in my total spend.
