"John and his helper Nathan did an excellent job!! They arrived when they said they were going to an hung a 65 inch tv and a 50 inch tv with no problem at all! The job was done in a timely manor. Both were very professional and friendly! The price was reasonable too!! I would highly recommend and trust the work of Affordable Home Repair for any job! "Great customer service they arrived on SAID time ON time. They didn't leave until the job was completed. I spotted one small flaw but nothing to complain about other than that they did a great job. They cleaned up behind themselves. I had to disposed of all the trash myself but they did put all the trash in bags and sat them outside nice and neat and it was also in the contract that the customer is responsible for disposal of trash. It was not a surprise. This properly why the cost was reasonably priced. I will use them again."

You may be able to repair a door closer, but often, it’s easier (and more cost-effective) to simply replace it. You may want to try fixing a door closer if the rod gets bent out of shape. If that happens, you can simply straighten it back into position. Using a flat, durable surface, line up the bent rod so the bend is pointing up. Then strike the bent rod with a rubber mallet, slowly pounding it back into place. If you can’t fix the closer, buying a new one is still a quick and inexpensive fix.

Vaseline or petroleum jelly will work to fix a squeaky hinge. Apply a little bit of the product across the entire hinge, especially in any scratches. Be sure to avoid getting any of it on your cabinetry. Luckily, it won’t run or drip like olive oil or other lubricants.

The best way to keep water out of a sliding glass door track is to regularly clean the tracks so debris doesn't build up and block the drainage holes. Exposure to water can cause your tracks to warp or rust to accumulate on your rollers and keep the door from sliding smoothly.

For most doors, you can use a 1-inch chisel to create the mortise for the strike plate. In addition, you can use a 3/4-inch chisel for more refined cuts and to clean up the edges of your mortise. The smaller tool is handy when squaring off the edges around the hole for your latch.

Like many common door problems, warping can be caused by improper installation. When a door isn't installed correctly, there's a good chance that the poor seal is allowing moisture and drafts to seep through. When this happens, humidity will build up in the wood until it swells and warps.
