Customers say: Quick response

"He did a fantastic job! I had a 24 in diameter stump with many roots and he chopped them all and ground them into the hole that remained. It wasn't very messy at all considering and was done quickly and at a great price I couldn't even approach by renting a grinder. I highly recommend!!!"

"The Provider contacted me within 24 hours of my purchasing the service with appointments available the next day. The technicians arrived right on time and were very friendly and professional. My concern is that the work itself doesn't look very professional -- in fact, my husband commented that it looks like we did it ourselves! The technician initially planned to replace the old, yellowed caulk with grout -- which I would then have to seal. When he was finished, he said he'd been unable to do so, as too many chips in the tub finish were "uncovered" when he removed it...so he replaced it with fresh caulk. It's much whiter and brighter looking, but not perfectly even; of greater concern is that I see new "chips" in the finish that weren't there before he started and most certainly were not covered by the old caulk."

"They were doing work across the street and I asked them to stop by and give me a quote since they were here. They stopped by and said they could do the trim work now since they were here. I agreed and they trimmed several large branches off of a large Maple tree. They shreded and cleaned up everything. I felt they did a good job at a fair price."

"Mike and his crew arrived on time and began work being as careful as possible not to damage our plantings near the tree. Several large hanging branches were removed high on the tree and cracked and split branches were cleaned up with fresh cuts. We were concerned that we might lose the tree (and we still might) but Mike tested the cabling in place and injected growth encouraging fertilizer around the base of the tree. Everyone on Mike's team was courteous and friendly. They raked and cleaned up the wood chips. Great job!"

Brush Chipping questions, answered by experts

Always begin by removing large debris, leaves, and branches from your lawn to make room for the rest of your lawn maintenance checklist. Move on to mowing, weeding, and edging in the spaces between your lawn and garden. Lastly, clean off all hardscapes, porches, and patios for a fresh and tidy appearance.

No. Unfortunately, leaf removal is your responsibility, no matter what tree the leaves come from. It would be pretty hard to regulate leaves since they can be moved by the wind or water. Imagine the detective skills it would take to determine which tree each leaf came from and who was then liable for removing it. Instead, plan to remove any leaves on your property.

A thorn bush isn’t likely to do serious damage, but it’ll definitely hurt if you get a thorn or two in your hand or arm. When removing thorn bushes, always wear thick gloves, long sleeves, and safety goggles to protect against thorns and dirt. If dealing with larger bushes or unfamiliar terrain, consider enlisting a helper for assistance.

You can leave grass clippings on the lawn, depending on their length. You don’t want to completely cover new grass and block it from sunlight, or encourage moss crowd out the more delicate grass. However, short clippings are usually fine to leave on the lawn. In some cases, they can be beneficial: Clippings can be a source of fertilizer and help protect the ground as young grass blades develop.

If you have a large number of leftover roots, shrub branches, rocks, and soil to remove from your stump removal project, you may need to call a professional junk removal service. A small truckload of junk removal costs between $75 and $125 to haul away. You may also have a free composting center in your area where you can haul the materials on your own.
