Russell Armstrong founded Chicago Window guys with one goal, deliver a great product with excellent installation at an amazing price. For year’s, Russ noticed that other window companies were overcharging and not delivering excellent service. This is evident if you simply look at the reviews of many of the window companies in Chicago. Nothing is more important for Chicago Window Guys but to ensure that you get a great deal on the best windows for your home. With over 25 years of home improvement experience, we look to help you get the right windows, installed by the best people, for the best price. The most expensive windows you can buy are the ones you have to install twice. We enjoy educating our clients on the different options available for their home. Don't be pressured into buying windows you don't need or more important you can't afford.

"We had an incredible experience with Chicago Window Guys. Everything from the initial quote to the final installation was a seamless and relaxing process. I will use them again for any window work and have referred them to others looking for the same work."

Our mission statement revolves around the fact that homeowners will only replace their windows, doors and home siding, likely once in a lifetime. Why not combine premium products, like Kolbe Windows and Doors, Andersen Windows and Doors as well James Hardie Fiber Cement Siding with the Preferred Installation methods that Opal Enterprises strives to offer! Our reputation for quality work and competitive pricing has been the primary factor in our success. We are committed to client satisfaction in which we serve you from start to finish. Call today!

"Process started November 3rd of 2021. The General Manager, Eli, came to the house and showed me all of the product offerings for a new entrance door with a sidelight and transom, a replacement window for the basement, and a specialty eyebrow window replacement in our master. I told Eli that I wanted one of the best doors they offer, to replace the builder grade door, and everything we are replacing needs to match the rest of the townhouses in our subdivision. Detailed quote was sent on the 17th. The quote included pictures of each item and the door showed the wrong transom window configuration. I was told that there was no picture option to show the transom configuration of 4 panes instead of 5 but he had taken pictures to insure the configuration will match with the existing door. I signed off on the paperwork and put down 30%. All three orders where custom, so the turnaround time was approximately 3 months and that also included some of there pandemic backups on supplies. In the months to follow I would receive a few automated emails a month on what to expect, manufacturing process, and what to do on the day of installation. The emails slowed down at the end of May and I finally reached out in April. The day I reached out they stated that everything was in and we set the installation date for April 26th. Opal workers arrived on time that morning and began the process. They started with removing all the old windows and door. As they unboxed the custom products I noticed that the door glass and eyebrow window glass were wrong. The basement window they were installing was considerably smaller than what they were replacing. I took pictures of everything and forwarded the information to there main office and received a fast response. I was told that the window inserts to make the configuration correct can be done after the install. The office manager looked at the picture on the quote for the door and stated that I signed off on 5 windows instead of 4 and I had to bring up the fact that there system had no pictured example of the 4 window layout but the General Manager guaranteed that all products would match the layout of the replacement. The basement window was installed and they used tons of foam and plywood to fill the gaps of where the old window was. I could hear the installers complaining after they unboxed the new window and initially put it in place because there was so much room on each side. If this was a custom measured window how come they installed a cookie cutter size that I could have bought at a big box store? The old window, without the frame, measured approximately 60 x 54 and the new window, without the frame, measured 48.5 x 48.5. This is the only window in the basement bringing in natural light. If this is a reasonable expectation then the sales team should have brought up the fact that replacement windows would be considerably smaller. If we were told this we would not have replaced the window at all. On top of the window being small you could see between the sliding glass as if there was no seals on the window at all. Air was coming in from the outside and there solution was to cut two pieces of thin molding in half, which did not close the gap. I was told that in order to fix everything it would take a couple months. I was not comfortable with paying the remainder of the $10,000. I wanted a guarantee that they would some how make this fix a priority, so we agreed to hold back $600. Two months turned into 5 months. The office manager called me once in that time frame and stated it would not be until September. It's now October and there has been no follow up. Maybe the $600 was less than what it would take to make the job right. For the first time in almost 20 years we have a gnat problem in the basement from that brand new Opal window. We would be better off just buying something to replace it. All in all there wasn't a single product that was right and the years of saving money to increase the value of our home was not what we were expecting. We will see if the pictures attached and review will get a response and then I can update it accordingly. I would be wiling to show pictures of the fixes and how there installers do there finishing work."

"I?m always thinking about ways to make our home easier to manage?especially heading into a new year. Great Glass' installation of a glass bathroom enclosure felt like the right step toward a cleaner, calmer routine. With kids and constant schedules, I don?t have time for high-maintenance bathrooms. This enclosure keeps water contained, wipes clean in seconds, and always looks neat?even on hectic mornings. The clear glass makes the bathroom feel lighter and more open, which honestly puts me in a better mood starting the day. It feels like a fresh, organized space?exactly what I wanted going into the New Year. Thank you Great Glass!"

Glaziers questions, answered by experts

Just how long it takes to install a wall mirror depends on the size of your wall, the type of mirror, the installation method, whether you decide to hire a professional, and the number of installers. For smaller walls with multiple trained professionals and acrylic mirror sheets, you can anticipate having your wall finished within an hour. Larger walls comprised of several custom mirrors can take upward of four hours to complete.

Yes, many professionals provide custom-cut glass replacements for enclosures that require precise sizing.

Yes, you can use glass cleaner on outside windows, but only after you’ve rinsed away as much debris as possible. Using glass cleaner on top of a layer of dirt will only make it harder to clean.

Recycled glass is a durable and sustainable countertop material that lends a unique look to any kitchen or bathroom. Whether or not it’s the right choice for your home hinges on your design preferences and budget. However, for many, it’s an excellent option to make your kitchen stand out if you don’t want to go with an option like quartz or quartzite.

Hard water stains are caused by hard water. Hard water contains a lot of minerals, like calcium and magnesium. When water on your glass surfaces dries out, the minerals stay behind and stick to the glass. This results in a residue that looks like white cloudy or streaky spots. Call a pro to install a water softener to banish hard water problems.
