"Joe was awesome in getting my fence in within my timeline and my budget. He was quick to come out and provide me a quote. While there were some delays mostly due to the permit process and the weather, Joe kept me informed on the progress. I was happy to have the fence installed during the winter before I move into my new house! Thanks Joe and team!"

"
I wasn't sure this would end up to be a good idea but, it turned out a very pleasant experience. They did it all from start to finish. They spent the first day and a half gathering the trash and debris left by the tenants. They must have pulled four trailers worth of mess out to the dump. Then they went through the whole place; removing nails from the walls, doing the patchwork on the plaster and lathe (where we wanted it repaired and pulled out where we wanted drywall replaced), sanding all the spots and removing the mess. Then they started in with the heavy repairs in the putting in a couple of windows and hanging the drywall where needed, they taped off all the walls, fixtures and windows to ready it for paint. After painting and waiting for it to dry; then they started outside clearing out the brush and debris left behind. They also worked to dress up the yard with great ideas like window boxes and fresh flowers! . They did all the paint work inside the house and finished up by touching up the outside paint. They went back through the house last time and shampooed the carpets, cleaned the stove and fridge, and put fresh new chalk in all the needed spots. I know I may not have all the right terminology but, these folks Really saved the day! When they left the place was spotless and the time and money we spent was well worth giving up the headache of that mess to someone else and finding they'd done a great job! Wonderful!"

Fencing questions, answered by experts

In Princeton, even a slightly loose post or small area of wood rot can quickly worsen due to shifting clay soil and moisture retention. Watch for minor gaps at the base, early rust spots, or warped boards—these can expand rapidly with seasonal weather swings. If you spot water collecting near posts or gates starting to drag, address these early to avoid more extensive fence repairs.

Helpful?

If you notice a leaning fence post, sagging gate, or isolated damage, you likely need fence repair. However, if multiple sections are failing or you see water pooling along the fence line, underlying drainage or soil issues may be present. Damage near your home’s foundation or signs of burrowing pests could indicate broader property concerns requiring attention beyond standard fence maintenance.

Helpful?

Fencing in Princeton faces unique challenges from freeze-thaw cycles and humid summers. Inspect your fence each spring for frost heave or shifting posts, and clear away any debris or plant growth. In summer, wash and seal wood fences, and check for insect activity. For metal fences, look for early signs of rust, especially after winter road salt exposure, and touch up protective coatings as needed.

Helpful?

Before starting a fencing project in Princeton, arrange for utility line marking and check local permit requirements. The region’s clay soil means setting posts below the frost line—typically at least 42 inches—to prevent shifting. Plan for proper drainage to avoid water damage. Choose fence materials rated for Midwest weather, and schedule installation between late spring and early fall for best results.

Helpful?

Fence contractors in Princeton first address safety hazards, such as unstable posts or broken panels. Next, they focus on structural repairs, especially where frost heave or shifting soil is common. Weatherproofing and pest prevention are timed before wet or cold seasons. For wood fencing, sealing and rot checks are prioritized, while metal fences get rust treatment and reinforcement against strong winds typical in the area.
