Small jobs welcome

"We had wind damage that took out apx 40 feet of our 6", wooden fence, and made the gate unusable. We got a very quick response to our request for an estimate, and the project was started, and completed on a very timely basis. The cost was totally reasonable. Anthony showed up with a crew, and the proper equipment to deal with the limestone and rocks that plague the west side of Ottawa. We will be getting an estimate from him to replace our front porch, and then most likely having him replace more of our back fence. Highly recommend this company."

"Agape is a family owned business, the owner, Mike brought his wife by to work and his son came by with the wife once as well. He is very friendly and professional. In addition to digging out the are and pouring the cement, Mike, and his wife pulled all the weeds from my patio. This was not in the contract, I did not ask him to do it, itas just something that he saw that needed to get done and he did it. Mike got the job by answering his phone on a Saturday, and coming by to measure on a Sunday. All the other construction guys in the area, were not available on the weekend. I plan to use Agape for future projects. I may want to build a privacy fence on one side of the hottub, I have the area blocked from sight now, but It would look nicer and have access to my neighbor if I tore down the cyclone fnce and put up a privacy femce. When I am ready to do that work, Mike is the first one that I will call.
Since the project was completed by Agape Construction, I have now had a hotub sitting on the cement slab filled with water. It is a medium to large tub and weighs over 2 tons when filled with water and people. I have seen no signs of cracking, seeping, or anything wrong at all. I am very happy with my hottub!! ?"

"Robert and Chris were great to work with on repairing my fence. Robert is quick to schedule the repair, his prices are reasonable for his work, and he did an amazing job on the fence repair. He also was able to repair my neighbor’s fence along side my fence repair job. I would highly recommend Robert for future work!"

Fencing questions, answered by experts

The depth of your post hole depends on your post length. If you decide on a two-rail fence, the posts are likely 6 feet long. You want your hole to be at least 1/3 of the post length. In this case, your post hole should be two feet deep.

If you opt for a three-rail fence, the posts will typically be 7 feet long, meaning your post hole should be 28 inches deep.

Posts for a horizontal fence should be no more than 6 feet apart. Wood pickets are not as strong when mounted horizontally as when mounted vertically. As such, the fence panels on a horizontal fence can’t cover the same span between posts as a vertical fence can. If you install the posts further apart on a horizontal fence, the fence will lose stability, making the boards more likely to sag.

A chain link fence typically lasts between 15 and 20 years, but with proper maintenance, it can last for 30 years or more. To preserve the fence, it's important to keep the mesh wire tight, which can be done with a come-along tool every 6 to 12 months. Investing in a fence with a galvanized, powder-coated, or vinyl-coated finish can increase its lifespan to 20 to 30 years and reduce maintenance needs, as these coatings provide extra protection against the elements.

Many types of farm fencing can work well for your farm, but it depends on the type of animal you need to contain and the size of your property. If you want something quick and temporary, go with a metal T-post fence. If you need something that will last forever, go with a synthetic fence made of composite material or PVC. Electric and barbed wire fences are often chosen for docile livestock, like pigs and cows.

Knowing how close to the property line you can build a fence is an important planning step in your fence installation project. In many U.S. states, you are allowed to build a fence directly on the property line as long as your neighbor signs off on the plan. But check with your state government because some states and municipalities require a couple of inches before your property line.
