"Great experience with this Painter. Called back quickly, came out to look and gave a fair estimate. Scheduled the day, arrived promptly and finished the job with great results. Had him paint a stairway which is not an easy task. He was professional and courteous throughout the entire process. Will highly recommend him to anyone who needs work done and will use him again when needed. Thanks for making this a pleasant and pain free transaction."

"Jason repainted our wrought iron fence. It had a lot of rust on it, so a lot of grinding was required to prep it for paint. That took a day. On day 2 he did the painting. The fence looks great, the paint was applied liberally yet evenly, and Jason is very nice and very easy to work with.

"Ken Turner Custom Painting beautifully restored almost the entire interior of my house. I chose this company because of the high ratings the company has received on Angie's List, and because the company removes wallpaper, which is no longer commonplace among painting contractors. The painters worked diligently and quietly and put in long hours when necessary to stay on schedule. l highly recommend this business, as the owner is very focused on customer satisfaction. I have already reserved time with them for another project in the spring."

"Excellent. The house is up for sale and I live currently in California so it would have been easy to take advantage of the situation but my realtor said it looks great and they even removed the moss from the roof. Rick communicated every step of the way even knowing I am out of town. Highly recommend this company!

Wallpaper Removal questions, answered by experts

If you’re installing new wallpaper and have leftover glue, you can remove unused wallpaper paste from the bucket or pan it’s in by letting it dry. If it’s an oil-based paste, seal it in a plastic bag and throw it in the garbage. Otherwise, toss the leftover wallpaper paste in the trash. Although it’s water-soluble, don’t rinse unused wallpaper paste down the sink because it could dry in the pipes and cause a blockage.

Costs depend on wallpaper type, wall condition, labor, and necessary repairs.

Hiring a professional wallpaper hanger is usually a worthwhile idea because, while the application of wallpaper itself is easy, getting the finished product to look good is complicated and takes a lot of practice and patience. A professional wallpaper hanger will not only be able to hang your wallpaper seamlessly, but they will also get an even application of wallpaper paste to avoid bubbling and imperfections immediately and over time. Plus, they can provide their professional opinion on whether to remove or wallpaper over an existing layer of wallpaper.

The average cost to install or hang wallpaper is around $575 per room or project, with typical prices ranging from $200 to $1,500. Costs can be higher for custom or luxury products. Since project size varies, it's often helpful to estimate labor costs per square foot, which generally fall between $1 and $7, with an average of $4 per square foot. The total cost depends on several factors, including the quality and type of wallpaper, the size and type of the room, and whether old wallpaper must be removed first. Opting for less expensive materials like peel-and-stick wallpaper or choosing to do the installation yourself can lower the overall cost. For the most accurate estimate, it is best to have a professional inspect the space and provide a quote.

Stubborn adhesives, multiple layers, and drywall damage can complicate removal.
