"I called Don and left word on his machine asking him to return my call. Not only did he return my call, but he stopped by that same afternoon, assessed my basement problem, provided me with an explanation I could understand, shot me a solid estimate and set a date to make repairs the following week. He arrived on time and completed the job in two days. I now have a dry basement for the first time in thirty years. ( what a fool for waiting so long!). Don was professional, honest, personable and efficient. He cleaned up meticulously each day, and his workers were courteous and hard working. I couldnâ t have had a better experience. I would recommend Don Felton and his Sure-Dry business without reservations."

Customers say: Quality work

"I just bought a new home and I had begun putting a new doorframe in the back door. Previous installers had messed it up so bad that I could see wouldn't have time. I posted on Angie and Hunter English from Good English reached out to me. He encountered multiple problems during the teardown & installation, but he kept me informed at every step, keeping communication open to make sure the job was done the way I wanted. I had never met him before but I definitely look forward to future jobs with him, and we talked about that."

Plumbing questions, answered by experts

Frost-free hose bibs are undoubtedly worth the investment, especially in regions with freezing temperatures. While they may have a higher upfront cost than standard bibs, the expense pales in comparison to the cost of repairing pipe leaks or the cost of water damage caused by frozen and burst pipes. The added protection and peace of mind they offer make them a cost-effective choice in the long run.

In most areas, drain cleaning professionals don’t technically need a license, as they aren’t altering your plumbing system in any way. However, we recommend hiring a drain cleaning professional with a plumbing license and certification. Certified plumbers are more likely to provide professional solutions to drain clogs without damaging your system. They’ll also have the diagnostic tools and experience necessary to remove the clog entirely rather than providing a temporary solution, as a handyperson might. Use Angi’s state licensing tool to check your plumber’s professional licenses before hiring.

No, you can’t drain your sump pump into your home’s sewer system. In fact, it’s against the law in many places because dumping extra water into a municipal water system can disrupt or overwhelm the treatment process. And for similar reasons, you shouldn’t discharge a sump pump into your septic system, either.

To keep your plumbing vents from freezing, start by insulating your pipes with foam or fiberglass sleeves to help maintain their temperature. For an extra layer of security, use heat tape, which acts as a personal heater to keep your pipes warm even when temperatures drop. Additionally, you should regularly check your vent cap to make sure it’s free from leaves and debris that can block the airflow. A clean, unobstructed vent cap is crucial for maintaining proper ventilation that will keep your plumbing vents from freezing and the plumbing system running smoothly.

The toilet flange anchors to the subfloor, usually with wood screws or cement screws, but most of it should sit above floor level at full height. When a flange is flush with the subfloor or below it, it can lead to the creation of leak paths.
