"I had 6 trees removed and some other damaged trees cleaned up from a huge storm by McCormick Outdoor Services. One tree was very large and hanging over the garage. They did excellent work, the price was good, and were very communicative though the process. I will definitely use them again if needed."

"Bradbury contacted me right away and came out the next morning to bid my job, This company worked efficiently and safely and successfully removed two trees from our yard, the tallest being 90 plus ft. located in a tight spot next to and above our garage, Removal was safely done without incident. Highly recommend them as safety appears to come first along with their affordable reasonable rates."

"D&R Lawn called Saturday to set an appointment for Monday. I was expecting to see a business rep with a clipboard taking detailed measurements of the lawn, try to upsell, and setting another day for the actual service. INSTEAD, I met Darin (owner) Monday morning and the leaves were removed from ~1000 sq ft (50 x 20 ft) yard on the same day in about 2 hrs. Night and day difference! I WILL hire them again in the spring."

Arborists questions, answered by experts

A serrated knife will work for cutting off small palm tree fronds, about 1 inch in diameter. For larger fronds, you will need pruning shears. You may also use a pruning saw, and if your palm tree is especially tall, an extended pole saw can help you reach the brown fronds around the trunk.

You can use herbicides to prevent roots from growing without killing the tree itself, however they must be used with caution. Systemic herbicides are absorbed by the root and can kill off problematic roots. However, herbicides can sometimes negatively impact nearby plants, so the solution is best used sparingly.

Yes, pruning makes trees stronger because it fosters proper growth, weight distribution, and balance of the crown. By increasing the structural integrity of the tree through pruning, it’s less likely to experience disease, pests, broken limbs, and storm damage. Pruning the right branches and limbs is key to improving a tree’s strength and balance.

Costs reflect the size of the tree or shrub, the complexity of the task, location accessibility, and disposal needs, and comprehensive quotes vary accordingly.

According to scientists at Penn State University, spotted lanternflies do not typically kill the trees and plants they feed on, but they can cause branches and segments to die off. However, they have been found to kill cultivated grapes, which can have devastating consequences for vineyard owners and regions that heavily rely on vineyards to create jobs and generate revenue. They have also killed the Ailanthu altissima, known as the tree of heaven, though this is classified as a noxious and invasive weed tree.
