"Ron and his son were wonderful. They were prompt, professsional, charged a very reasonable fee and were a pleasure to work with. I highly recommend them!"

"Cut down the tree that we agreed on and did a great job. The only complaint is I had another small tree that had been down for awhile with just the trunk remaining that they said they would take as well if they had the room as a favor. After they did the tree they were paid to do they said they did not have the room for the small tree but they pretty clearly did. I probably shouldnâ t complain cuz I didnâ t offer to pay them any extra for it and that might have magically created room. They definitely had room in my opinion and Iâ m not sure they were ever really going to try despite what they said. That said whoâ s really going the extra mile these days anyway? They cut the tree down they were paid for and took every branch without a trace in about 2 hours at market rate. Solid company just be clear and have everything on paper before they start if you have a larger project then this would be my take away from the experience. Which is probably a good idea anyway."

"The first experience was great: everything was done quickly and efficiently.  When we tried to arrange the second half of the job, it took forever to get ahold of them, and a wheelbarrow was left in our yard for days.

"Connor went above and beyond. I had a very large tree limb fall and and go through a fence. He came out to give a quote and mentioned he could repair the fence as well. Work was completed in a timely manner and price was very fair. Will definitely recommend to anyone I know looking for tree work!"

Arborists questions, answered by experts

Deciduous shade trees (the type of trees whose leaves fall off in autumn) need to be pruned in late winter—between February and March. That’s because it’s easier to find and remove sick or dead branches when no leaves are present. And wounds close and heal faster in colder temperatures so pruning them at this time also makes them less prone to infection.

Most experts recommend removing a tree that has sustained more than 25% loss in the limbs, trunk, or circumference of the bark. Doing an initial trimming of damaged and dangling branches, but then waiting a few days of monitoring to decide how much more you might need to cut can help you better assess the total damage to the tree. However, consulting a tree maintenance pro to make this determination the best course of action before removing a tree.

You may be looking to identify maple trees to use for home improvement projects. In that case, you can tell hard maples by looking at their leaves. Leaves will have a U-shaped dip, or sinus, between the points, or lobes, of the leaves. Leaves of soft maples tend to have V-shaped sinuses.

If you already have the cut wood in front of you, look for a light, uniform color to identify hard maple wood and check for variations of red, gray, or brown streaks and an overall darker color in soft maple wood.

It will take you anywhere from 15 minutes to two hours per tree stump to grind and remove the stump from the ground. The larger the size, the longer it will take to remove the stump. Also, keep in mind that rocky soil may require local excavation services to loosen up large boulders before you can begin to remove the tree stump.

No, you cannot plant a tree above a gas line. Tree roots grow and spread over time and can sometimes dent, crack, or penetrate a gas line. Those same roots may also cause accessibility problems for maintenance or repairs. You can generally plant vegetation with non-invasive root systems, low-growing vegetation, and flower beds near gas lines.
