Chem-Wise is a trusted, locally owned, full service pest control company offering convenient residential and commercial pest control throughout Chicagoland. We are experts in identifying Illinois pests, and using the safest, most effective methods to eliminate them.
"They were great the first year and then consistently went downhill. I ask to come when I was home because of the dogs and every time that was an issue. Then I would pre-pay for 3 -4 services and they either would not come or would do a "fast" spray. The last service for this year I got an email they were coming and then nothing. I know because I have cameras around the house. When I complained they told me they would send some to do the spray (this was a week ago) you know the bugs are really bad in a freeze? Done, will not use anymore and will not recommend."

"We are very happy with our landscaping that was done and water drainage problems that were addressed. Contractor met with us and gave an idea of what he would like to do and then presented us with a digital landscape plan before starting our project. Was open to our feedback and any changes we requested. Easy to work with and very organized from start to cleanup."

"They need to do a better in bidding jobs. Fall cutting of plants etc. was fine. They were suppose to remove leaves. Prior to the service I had raked up a lot of leaves and left them in a pile to take, they didn’t remove it. I also asked them to take a yard debris pile which they quoted for $55. They didn’t remove it, but after the fact wanted $150 to remove it.They stopped by the first time, reviewed the job and left. Came back to do the job, and didn’t complete to my expectations. If they would have bid the job correctly, there would have been no problem and I wouldn’t have piles of debris in my yard."

"Damian and his company are excellent to work with. Not only is he extremely professional, but he makes it a point to ensure that as a customer, one is 100% satisfied. Every task is completed with great care and I would not trust my lawn and it’s upkeep to any other company. I will continue to be a loyal customer and promote his services. A+"

"Slow, extremely slow. Jackie was quick to respond and send a contractor, saying he was a "very nice kid." Kid he was but the problem was not his age but his lack of experience/knowledge and not having any tools for the job. His business card reads, "B & R Landscaping" The job was a yard clean up of garden and gardening materials. He came, looked, went home to "get the equipment (he) needed." He returned with his friend. He was so ill equipped, he had six plastic bags, manual, long handled hedge clippers and only one pair of work gloves. No lawn mower, no rake, no power hedge cutter. Instead of raking the loose debris (plants and straw) first, he kept bending over to pull and pick the plants and just dropped them where he pulled them. They worked for one hour, ran out of bags and it took both of them to go buy more plastic bags. This "kid" lives in Chicago and does yard and lawn work but doesn't know that there is a law saying that all yard debris has to be put into special paper bags. When they returned (yes, it took two young men to buy bags) he brought his girlfriend with him and they proceeded to take a full hour break. They worked for another hour, packed some of the full bags and some other debris into his fancy hatch bed truck and went to have another break and decided not to return because it was "taking too long." Their excuse was that I had not told them how much work was really there even though this guy had looked over the yard PRIOR to starting but had to go home to "get the proper equipment." (Uh, lawnmower, rakes, shovel, maybe hand clippers.....) Jackie refused to find me another contractor to complete the job. In looking back, an experienced, healthy person would have only taken one to two hours to complete the job. Two healthy people would have had the yard SPOTLESS in that length of time. Although Jackie refused payment (I'm NOT comfortable with that), I could not recommended JDG nor B&R. The pictures show the yard prior to any work. Make your own decision."

The average cost to mow a lawn is about $125, ranging between $50 and $200 per cutting, depending on yard size. Other cost factors include the shape of your lawn, accessibility, lawn health, type of grass, length of grass, and frequency of the mowing schedule. The cost to cut your grass will also vary depending on where you live. If your landscaper has to maneuver around obstacles or deal with hard to reach areas and steep slopes, this will likely increase your total mowing costs.
The recommended frequency to fertilize your lawn depends on the health of your lawn. If the grass is healthy and you have good soil, you may only need to apply fertilizer once yearly. However, if your lawn has shallow roots or poor, sandy soil that lacks the nutrients that grass needs to thrive, you may need to fertilize the lawn every six weeks.
On average, the cost to hydroseed ranges between $500 and $4,000. The cost depends on the size of the area you’re hydroseeding, the type of grass seed, slope of your yard, and other factors. Hydroseed is a mixture of grass seed, fertilizer, water, and mulch that you spray on the lawn using a pressurized sprayer. While the process is more expensive than seeding, grass will grow more quickly, and is often healthier.
Yes, it can be cheaper to fertilize your own lawn. DIY lawn fertilization saves the cost of hiring a lawn care company or a company that specializes in lawn fertilization. It’s important to handle fertilizer carefully to avoid the potential dangers of getting fertilizing chemicals on your skin. Also, using the wrong type of fertilizer or misapplying it can permanently damage your lawn. On average, the cost to fertilize your lawn using a professional lawn care service is about $250 and may be worth checking into as professionals tend to have the equipment and knowledge to apply the most effective blend of fertilizer to your lawn for the best results.
