O’Danny Boy Builders is a roofing company that specializes in storm-related roof repair and restoration. O’Danny Boy was established in 2009 with the mission to bring a standard of excellence and integrity to the storm restoration industry. Based in Chicago, O’Danny Boy services not only the Chicago metropolitan area, but also has a successful track record of residential and commercial roofing projects throughout the Midwestern states. At O’Danny Boy we are committed to delivering a friendly, knowledgeable, and professional experience to every client. We will treat you like an old friend!

"Here is my experience with O'Danny Boy Builders: DO NOT USE THEIR SERVICES!!! There seems to be a significant disparity between the initial estimate and the final charges, which has caused me considerable frustration for almost a year (July - March). During our initial discussions, we agreed on an estimate that accounted for cost-saving measures, including retaining certain fixtures like the downspout on my roof. This agreement was made with the understanding that these savings would cover my deductible, without the need for additional charges. However, I was surprised to discover that the final bill exceeded our agreed-upon amount, including unexpected charges that were not part of our original agreement. Specifically, I did not consent to use my recoverable depreciation from the insurance company to cover additional costs, yet it appears this was done without my authorization as I endorsed this check as well over to this company. You need to understand that this company may alter the terms of your agreement without prior consent, which is unacceptable and undermines my trust in this company. Such actions are not only unethical but also breach the terms of our contract. Regrettably, these billing discrepancies have left me feeling deceived and dissatisfied with the service provided. I am compelled to address these concerns and ensure that others are aware of the lack of transparency in your billing practices. FYI - I paid the additional amount of $1257 as the company is also threatening to put a lien on my home and I have had enough! Good luck if you decide to use their unethical services!"

Typical roofing repairs cost between $380 and $1,800 on average. However, most homeowners spend approximately $1,100 on a roofing repair project. The size of the roof, the extent of the damage, and the type of project all impact the final cost. External factors like product availability and supply chain issues may also affect the price.

Projects like repairing damaged gutters will only be around $180 to $560, whereas repairing a sagging roof will be a higher expense at $1,500 to $7,000.

Roof repairs start at around $700.00 and go up from there.  There are many significant factors that come into play, and each customer's needs will rarely be the same.

The cost to replace your roof is often significantly more expensive than the cost to repair it. On average, homeowners will spend between $5,890 and $12,800 to replace a roof. The size of the roof, the roof’s pitch, and the number of stories the house has will significantly affect the overall cost. You can expect to spend upwards of $46,000 for large, high-end roofs.

This all depends upon size, type and complexity of the actual sloped areas of the roof.  An accurate estimate with detailed lists of covered and additional items is imperative when purchasing and protecting yourself during the process.

Although not every state issues licenses for roofing pros, it's important to check with your county or city if hiring a licensed roofing contractor is necessary. Hiring an unlicensed roofer might result in low-quality work and potential legal issues if an accident happens. It’s always best to check the qualifications and licenses of your roofer before they begin a project.

As you browse our pro listings, take note of the “Angi Approved” badge. Angi Approved businesses meet our standards for certification which include:

  • The owner, principal, or relevant manager passed a criminal background check

  • Required to have applicable state and local licenses

  • Maintain an average star rating of 3.0 or better on our network, if they have at least one review

  • Paying to advertise their services

  • Meeting any other eligibility criteria required by Angi

Keep in mind licensing is different from certifications. A license is a legal requirement to operate a business, while certifications are voluntary.

Before hiring a roofing contractor to work on your project, there are a few things you will want to ask, including:

  • Do you use roofing subcontractors?

  • Do you offer a warranty?

  • Do you have any references?

  • How will you clean up after the project is complete?

  • Will you remove my old or damaged roof?

Roofing is a highly skilled and labor-intensive trade. Because of this, you can expect to pay an average of $2 per square foot for your roofing professional. Roofing labor costs generally make up about 60% of the overall project cost.
