"My review is tiered because the overall service seems to run on tiers. The technician was great. Very personable and professional. 5 stars for his work. Your tests get sent to the lab. The lab explains the results and recommends a company for a DIY solution. This is where things start to fall apart. The company you get referred to has abysmal reviews and the sales pitch feels extremely predatory. That taints my opinion of the lab results which would be teamed up with a business they probably shouldn't recommend. We're planning on either an independent company locally to get a quote from for any remediations we will take or even see what home depot has to offer. In any event please read the reviews of BioCide, the company they will recommend you use. We're still not sure we even have a real problem if they are working together."

"We hired Jeff to give us pre and post mold remediation air quality tests, and I am so glad we did. Jeff was extremely knowledgeable and had no conflict of interest on the outcome of the results since we had a different company doing the remediation. We actually had to go back to the mold remediation company when his air quality report did not pass clearance, and he was our chief advocate in getting the company to come back and do further remediation. He has been a great to work with because he is not only an expert but is a caring individual, and I would recommend anybody use his services. He also is licensed to test for asbestos, which is our next project before we remove our popcorn ceiling!"

"My water line broke to the hot water heater. My son contacted Absolute Clean. It was a pleasure working with Scott to get the mold taken care of and the rebuild. A few weeks later I found a problem and Scott didn't hesitate to take care of it also."

"I recently hired Eversafe Restoration for mold remediation, and I couldn’t be happier with the results. From start to finish, their team was professional, knowledgeable, and efficient. They thoroughly inspected my home, identified the affected areas, and explained the entire process in detail. The team worked quickly to remove the mold, ensuring the safety of my family and preventing future issues. They even addressed the underlying moisture problem to keep the mold from coming back. Eversafe Restoration went above and beyond my expectations. If you’re dealing with mold, I highly recommend their services. They’re reliable and truly care about their customers. – David Kramer"

Mold Testing and Remediation questions, answered by experts

Although fiberglass dust is generally not considered toxic, inhaling excessive amounts of it can lead to health risks. Irritation to the respiratory system, eyes, and skin are common effects of fiberglass particle inhalation. While short-term exposure to the dust may only cause temporary discomfort, long-term or chronic exposure can lead to more severe respiratory problems.

Proper safety measures, such as wearing appropriate protective equipment, including masks and goggles, should be observed when handling or working with fiberglass materials to minimize health risks. It is important to note that, unlike asbestos, fiberglass is not associated with life-threatening illnesses.

Toxic black mold on wood appears as dark green or black patches. It often has a slimy or wet texture and may spread across the surface in a spotty pattern. The affected wood might appear discolored, soft, and damp. Identifying black mold early is crucial because it can cause severe health problems when its spores are released into the air. Prompt remediation is necessary to prevent further damage and health risks.

Mold is not guaranteed to grow on wet drywall, but the risk increases significantly the longer the material remains wet. Mold and mildew can begin to grow in as little as 24 to 48 hours, especially in optimal conditions, which include moist, dark places with temperatures between 77 and 86 degrees Fahrenheit. If the drywall is too wet to dry within that timeframe, mold can grow and spread. In any instance of water damage, it is wise to get a mold inspection to be certain that none has taken up residence in your home.

Slime mold isn’t toxic to your dog, even if they eat it. Toxicity and comfort are two different things, and if you notice your dog eating slime mold, you should stop them, but not worry too much. Expect a period of gastrointestinal distress, and possibly some other complications, but your dog should be ok within a few days.

According to the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), hazardous waste is generally classified into four main categories:

1. Characteristic Wastes: These exhibit at least one of four hazardous traits: ignitability (flammable, like gasoline), corrosivity (can rust or decompose materials, like car batteries), reactivity (unstable and can explode, like aerosol cans), or toxicity (harmful when ingested, like lead-based paint).

2. Listed Wastes: These are specific wastes from manufacturing and industrial processes that the EPA has officially designated as hazardous. They include byproducts from processes that use solvents, pesticides, and other chemicals.

3. Universal Wastes: These are commonly generated hazardous items that are subject to streamlined regulations. Examples include batteries, pesticides, mercury-containing equipment (e.g., bulbs), and some lamps.

4. Mixed Wastes: This category includes waste that contains both hazardous and radioactive components, making it subject to regulation by both the EPA and the Nuclear Regulatory Commission.
