"Not only did my floors turn out far beyond what I thought was possible, I'm pretty sure, he's a floor artist. I received 4 estimates. I didn't go with the cheapest quote, I went with the one that was only slightly higher because my gut told me he was the guy that would do the best job. My gut was 100% correct. I can't even tell you how happy I am with the outcome. There is no other option of who to hire if you want your floors to look beautiful again. I'm really happy and would give 10 stars if I could."

"Aaron was extremely knowledgeable and nice to work with. The two primary workers were also incredibly nice and personable. The job took slightly longer than estimated but that was due to the original finish on the floor ( was much harder to sand off than original thought). There was slight bleed through onto the floorboards from the new finish that we weren t expecting, but that was easily dealt with some minor touch up. Love the new color! Really updates our house and wish we had done it sooner"

"Mark and his team were absolutely wonderful to work with. We installed white oak hardwood flooring throughout our entire first floor. They were stained and finished on site, and Mark and his team completed the project in a very timely manner. They arrived on time each morning, were very clean and friendly, and the quality of work far exceeded our expectations. They took measure to never leave the house dusty when they were done for the day, and put multiple stain choices down for us when we were having trouble picking a color. We received multiple bids before starting the project, and Quality Wood Flooring was very competitive and fairly priced. We are thrilled with the results, and highly recommend Mark and Quality Wood Flooring for any of your hardwood needs."

"I asked Get Flooring to install hardwood flooring in 2/3 of the house. Excellent overall work with just a "little extra" needed on my part to ensure the little things were done. Jeff and Paul, and Alfonso, the subcontractor, were very responsive. For example, they did a great job ensuring the new flooring was level when laid over the existing flooring. (I needed to do this to ensure the flooring throughout the house was level.) Yet to get to that solution required I convince them after researching the situation myself. Also, I paid extra to have them install baseboard molding, and the flooring wholseller they worked with delivered the wrong type of molding without wearing masks, which I got caught up in in bit. These were little that led to a less than 5 star rating; nonetheless, I'd use them again, no doubt."

Floor Sanding questions, answered by experts

Yes, new home construction will always require building permits, no matter where you live. In most cases, you’ll need a general construction permit, along with plumbing and electrical permits for the utility lines in your home. Depending on where you live, you’ll likely find that you also need permits for things like connection to a sewage system or installing exterior components, like decks, driveways, patios, and curb cutouts. Leave navigating the permits required for new home construction to a professional to ensure your home is built legally and safely.

Surveys completed by licensed surveyors can be recorded with a local surveying records office, and in most cases, they will be. Filing survey reports categorize them as legal documents, and they can be used whenever legal documentation of your property’s boundaries is needed. While you’re not required to file survey documents, it’s a good idea to do so.

A boundary survey measures the boundary lines of the property, only the length of each property line and their locations. A land survey includes a more in-depth measurement of the property, including the heights and depths of the terrain measured by a topographic survey. A boundary survey is typically the most cost-effective method for marking and measuring property lines.

Soil testers and licensed excavators are often the professionals you hire if you need a perc test. In some cases, structural engineers will also be able to conduct the test for you. In many municipalities, you’ll need your professional on-site to dig and fill the holes with water, as well as a representative from your local building department or health department. That representative is the individual who will determine whether your test passes or fails.

Land surveys are worth it in several scenarios including selling your home, building an addition, constructing a fence, or making major changes to your landscape. A professional land survey can help you avoid legal issues with your neighbors and confirm the value of your property. In many cases, you may be required to order a land survey to receive a construction permit or mortgage loan.
