"I think we had a misunderstanding about what work was to be done. We expected the whole deck and rails to be painted.  Two of his employees came out and painted just the floor of the deck. When we approached them about it they called the boss and discussed it.  They had quoted us a fee which we assumed was the whole deck. Then they wanted to charge us extra money. We told the employee that the fee quoted was to include the whole deck and rails.   This employee advised he would come back and finish the job on his own time and the fee would not be increased. We were then completely satisfied with the work."

"Bob Bequette of Bob's Remodeling and Repair gave me a bid that was substantially lower than any other bids I received. He began the project on the expected date and did a great job. In fact, I will be using him to complete several additional jobs in my home."

Glass Block questions, answered by experts

Regular cleaning with non-abrasive cleaners helps prevent buildup and maintains clarity.

Glass walls are more expensive overall than their brick or drywall counterparts. However, if you need walls for a building with more than two or three stories, glass walls are the more budget-friendly option.

Heavy glass tends to be more expensive than thin glass because it is stronger and more durable. In most cases, ¼-inch-thick glass is ideal for mirrors, and ⅛-inch-thick glass is ideal for residential windows. Heavier glass isn’t always necessary, and can be more challenging to hang or install. Work with a local window installation pro for replacement or new construction windows.

Glass block mortar is the best choice for glass block window units. It is specifically formulated for glass block window installation. Glass block mortar is usually a mixture of Portland cement, sand, and special chemicals. It is a white mortar that is applicable inside and outside your home. Do not use regular tile mortar because it may not have the binding strength and flexibility required for glass block windows.

Their thickness depends on application, but most glass walls are typically 3/8 to 3/4 of an inch thick. Although it’s not as common, single panes of glass can also be 1 inch thick.
