Terrible experience! Horrible decision on my part. I was needing to hire someone remotely to get the house in a condition to sell quickly. I couldn t be there daily to check progress. They were to remove carpeting in two rooms, fix a hole in the ceiling of one bedroom, remove junk, deep clean the entire house. Was told the project would take four days. As of today, it has been four months. He made me pay in cash upfront the first $5000 or he would charge me $750 more. He said he would have to report it to the IRS if I paid any other way. After doing that, they did the first part of the project which was ripping out the carpeting, but left it on the porch. Nothing else was done for a month. He stopped answering my calls or texts and the phone wouldn t let me leave a message. After continually sending texts, and threatening to sue, he got back with me to tell me they would for sure do the job. Instead of patching the ceiling, he said the whole ceiling had to be ripped out. They did that, found wire mesh in the corners And couldn t figure out how to get rid of the mesh. He said they needed to gut the entire room and it would cost more money. Like an idiot, and being held over a barrel, I agreed and paid an additional $3000. In all that process, they left the house with no ceiling For two months. The thermostat was left at 78° when it was -4 outside. My utility bills were through the roof, literally. They seem to do just enough to keep me dangling on. He kept making excuses when I asked for written estimates or invoices. He said they were having computer problems. I told him I thought it sounded like I was being scammed. Also, I got a picture of my guttering in the front ripped to the ground. I had been there a few days before and even secured it. I can t prove it, but it seems like one of the workers ripped it down so that they could charge me for a new gutter system. As of last week, the drywall was poorly attached to the room and not taped, sealed, insulated or finished, the guttering was still on the ground. The house was still filthy and there were nails, staples and carpet residue stuck to the floor. My realtor went over to the house just to check and they had left the kitchen sink running for what had to be weeks. I don t want to think of what the water bill will be. I had a false sense of security going thru Angi and dealing with someone from a smaller community. I thought they would be trustworthy. This group of 19 year old kids should never be able to have a company on your site.
