Board and batten is an aesthetic choice and, like most aesthetic choices, will do little to raise your home’s value. That being said, certain design elements can help attract more buyers, even if your home’s price won’t see a noticeable bump. 

Installing a flagpole can improve your home’s curb appeal, so it will often have a modest positive impact on your property value. You’ll see a much larger bump in property value if you install a custom wooden flagpole than you would if you install a standard aluminum pole. Both conventional loans and FHA loans are types of mortgages, but they have a few key differences. Conventional loans are backed by private lenders without any government backing, and FHA loans are guaranteed by a government agency. The differences between market value and appraised value depend on the local market, so they can match, or either one can be higher than the other.
