"They do great work! From puncutality to price, we will use no other company going forward. Since building a bedroom in our basement, we just had them back last week. We have/had a very small kitchen space in our typical 3 bedroom brick ranch in Chicago. We hired Pawel to remove the adjoining bedroom which we've converted into dining space. This included removal of two walls, reinforcement of two support beams, run electrical for canned lighting, install two other light fixtures, patch drywall and mend existing floors for a great flow. All was completed in a timely manner and of course, the finished product has exceeded our expectations.

"GF did nice work installing my new gutters. I didn't have to wait long  after measurements were taken to have my gutters installed because they had my color in stock. However, the installation team showed up without calling to confirm. Luckily, I have the summers off and was home, so it wasn't a problem."

"My daughter recommended them to take care of these stubborn weeds i have in my yard. My lawncare I usually use didn't want to do it so A & Sons did and he was very friendly and did an overall amazing job. Very hard worker."

"We originally hired Peter to do the design only. We selected him over other architects and are pleased with the design. He listened to our ideas and provided very practical solutions and helped us with zoning variances. During the design phase, they added "and Builders" to their services. We selected Idea over a lower bid because of our good experience with Peter. The build is in progress and the sub-contractors are profession and do quality work. I will update this report when the build portion is complete."

"Ibro updated our master bath, removing a jacuzzi tub, relocating the toilet and shower. The bathroom looks beautiful and Ibro had some great ideas and advice that helped make it so. Ibro and Abraham were lovely and respectful so having them in our home was no problem. Part of our project included painting the existing cabinets. This part or the project did not go well. We were really unhappy with the job the painting crew did. Ibro did his best to rectify the problems on his own, taking doors and repainting them properly himself. He is definitely a man who takes pride in his work and keeps his word. Our project finished at 30% more than our original quote. We were no doubt largely to blame for that but I think a more detailed initial quote would have helped us to feel better about it."

"The lawncare provided was outstanding, because in addition to their punctuality and quality service, the lawn service team not only weeded the beds but also turned over the mulch in all beds. Nice touches like this is consistent with the increasing level of service received from VM Landscaping."

I liked them.   Jose and Paul (father and son) were very punctual.   they went right to it.   the installation was a bit more difficult than I expected since railings had to be cut,  holes had to be drilled into the tiles and the closet opening was apparently not leveled.    I know they worked hard the entire time they were here.    I had originally paid for 2 hours via Angie's list but I know they worked a bit more than 4 hours so I offered to pay more for the extra time.   They hauled all the debris away with them including the old doors

and the boxes for the new doors.

Greenhouses and Nurseries questions, answered by experts

In most cases, wait three to five days to repot or relocate a plant from a greenhouse or nursery. That way, your plant has time to recover from any shock during the move and adapt to the conditions in and around your home. Some hearty plants may not need as long, and delicate plants might need several weeks. You should ask the professional at your nursery for a recommended timeline. Consider asking about an initial watering schedule to help stimulate root growth and promote a healthy plant.

Eco-friendly materials include sustainably-sourced woods, recycled metals, low-VOC paints, and non-toxic sealants, which reduce environmental impact. Using these in repairs promotes sustainability and can improve indoor air quality and overall building health.

The quickest way you can protect plants and trees from frost is to cover them with garden blankets or frost cloths. Also, bringing potted plants or trees indoors is much simpler than trying to cover and protect them outdoors. Remember to anchor blankets with something such as sandbags, fabric pins, or rocks if the forecast calls for strong winds to keep them from blowing away and exposing your trees and plants.

Minor fixes like patching leaks or repainting are DIY-friendly, but structural repairs require professional expertise.

Adding burnt charcoal to your garden beds and plant pots can yield several benefits, but there are risks involved, too. Charcoal, particularly biochar, can enhance soil structure, improve water drainage, and increase nutrient retention. When activated, charcoal provides key nutrients like nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium. However, burnt charcoal, especially from briquettes, can inadvertently alter soil's pH levels and become hazardous to plants. Overall, there are better and less risky soil amendments available, such as vermiculite, perlite, or wood chips.
