Great communication, great service and flexibility. We initially just called for the garage roof, then added other things because of the service and price. Cheaper than any other estimates, for the same roofing product quoted. Done with work as promised in less than 2 days.

We all have different criteria for selecting a contractor. Important factors to me were the experience of the firm, the individual providing the proposal and recommendations, and the crew performing the work. Other important factors were the materials to be used, the processes and procedures, insurance, price and any variance from the price in the estimate, etc. Chris, a former roofer himself, is not the type of person to upsell you. When asked questions, he was responsive to my concerns and answered questions with directness, provided reasons as to why a certain product/materials were better or not suitable, and provided details of his processes and procedures, background of himself and his crew. Chris was nice enough to provide us with locations in order ot review his workmanship and the colors of the shingles of interest to us. In short, I thought Chris to be an honest and trustworthy person with integrity. He and his crew values and provides quality workmanship. Overall, I highly recommend KG Roofing & Construction, Inc. My area experienced hail damage and therefore I was exposed to many roofing contractors. Chris (the owner) was a pleasure to work with. There was no doubt that I was going to use KG Roofing after getting several bids from others. He never tried to up sell anything I didn't need and twice told me to save money by going a better route. Chris did my home and a rental duplex that I own in Minooka, which both were done in a quality manner. His crew discovered that the original contractor of my home didn't put flashing around my chimney. Without discussing it his crew installed the flashing at no additional cost. After hiring KG roofing, and watching his crew perform, Two of my neighbors, the brother of one neighbor, and my daughter and her husband all signed contracts to have KG Roofing do their houses. A total of 5 home owners and 6 rental units with only 1 concern, they forgot to install a damaged downspout. When the oversight was brought to Chris's attention his crew was out within two days to replace the downspout and complete the work as promised. I would do yourself a favor and get a quote from KG roofing before making a decision on which contractor to use.

This is the second time we've called on Chris for a roofing issue. Both times he came out within hours of our phone call, gave a more-than-fair estimate for the services, and performed them promptly within the next 24 hours. He is friendly and professional. I wouldn't call anyone else.

Great job, one day worked 8.00 am til dark.very professional hard working, old world craftsmanship . You have to have them give you a estimate before you sign with anyone else. Ice proofed flattest roof area for extra protection.

Chris was excellent, on-time, diagnosed the leak problem in minutes, repaired it at a very reasonable cost. I would highly recommend him.

Chris is a excellent manager. He kept us informed of his schedule and when he would be able to start the job(roofing in the spring is weather dependent and therefore is challenging to schedule). His crew executed within the time frame he established and did a great job -- the new roof looks oustanding. They also did an excellent job picking up all of the loose shingles and associated debris from the tearing off of the old roof . Chris is very service oriented, he worked with us on roof color, color of the vents, plus he added some downspout extensions as a last minute request by my wife. He has a great demeanor and overall he was a pleasure to work with and we would not hesitate to use him again.

They have to come out couple of times. Their price is good; other people have the same kind of problem and they are paying more like $200. He missed a couple of things so had to come back; there were leak coming to our house because of things he missed. We called him but he never respond. Sometimes it goes months before he'll call us again then he'll come out again. We have more work we wanted him to do but he never comes so we call him then he'll say he will get back to me in a few weeks but he never hear from him again.

We had a minor leak in a side wall in my Mom's dining room. It leaked once over the summer after a torrential rain, then never again. I described the problem, and he came that week to check out the roof. Found a few places that the builder hadn't properly sealed. He did the work on the spot. Was pleasantly surprised that it was a minor repair and that he did such a good job. By coincidence, we had a huge rainstorm a week or so later, and no leaking! Would definitely use this provider again.

First off let me say this is one of the best contractor experiences I have ever had. Chris and his crew were on time speedy, left no mess and we're done in a day. They installed Owens Corning architecture shingles, new attic fan and new bathroom vents. I have nothing but good things to say about this company do not hesitate if you need roofing done waste no more time and call Chris at kg roofing

Installers arrived on time, did the job in a reasonable time and did a great job. Price was competitive and personnel were very professional.

Chris and his crew were very professional and the job was done in a timely matter. The other contractors were higher in price for the same type of roof (Timberline GAF HD shingles). Chris gave us the best price for tearing off the old roof and putting on a new roof. He also was kind enough to make the repair to my roof (to avoid further damage on the inside of my home) until he was able to replace with a new roof. I would highly recommend K G Roofing and construction.

It went very well. I called him on Wednesday 9/3/2014 when I found there were 3 large pieces ( the whole long piece) of roof singles fell off from the higher roof of my house. He came the next day to check which was Thursday 9/4/2014 and called me and we discussed on the phone. He gave the price and told me he would do the work the following week because he was really busy. So the following week which was Thursday 9/11/2014 he came and did the work as promised. I trust him.

This is a long review, so I am sorry. Short Story: K&G Roofing is fantastic and the work was completed on time and done very well. We are extremely pleased with the work done as well as our interactions with K&G Roofing and Chris in particular. Long Story: We were cleaning out our gutters and one of our boys was standing on our roof (a weak spot in the roof) and fell in through to our attic storage above our portico. We were able to put a tarp over the hole to prevent water from entering the attic area but some roofing work was needed. I called around and got some estimates and K&G Roofing?s estimate was the one we liked. It wasn?t the cheapest but the quality of the estimate and the interactions with Chris (from K&G Roofing) was what sold us on them. Chris took the time to work with my wife and I on the estimate, talk about all the options and explain what and why we needed what we needed. We have a mansard roof with a ?low slope? and this requires a different roofing material than a normal sloped roof. We needed to have the low slope replaced (torn off, some plywood replaced and new roofing installed) but did not necessarily need the high slope shingles replaced. Chris talked us through K&G?s ability to match the low slope top color to the existing high slope side color. Chris even recommended that to save costs, we should not do the high slope sides. When we asked him what he would do he honestly answered, ?I would do the low slope top and I would hold off on doing the high slope sides until you are financially ready. It is not something that is needed at this time but would be best to be done in a year or two. If you can afford it, doing both the top and the sides at the same time will ensure that there is a color match.? Chris also talked about the options for the low slope top. We could go with regular shingles and save some money but because of the low slope, they would only last five to seven years and we would need to redo the work. We chose to do the entire roof at once to make sure we had the color match between the top and sides as well as allow for a better seam between the upper and lower parts of the roof over the curb. K&G Roofing even provided detailed pictures of the work being done (we were out of town when they reroofed our house). We are now sitting with a new roof and I have noticed over that past two months that our costs on electric and heat (You have to love Chicago weather) have gone down compared to last year at this time. We would recommend K&G Roofing if you are looking for a new roof. While there may be a cheaper company out there, we believe K&G?s installation quality, service and availability for questions is beyond anyone else.

As I mentioned we chose another roofer.

Called KG after a bad rainstorm that caused the skylight in our kitchen to leak. He came right out and sealed the glass and around the skylight. Great to know such a reputable roofer.

After a bad wind storm, we were referred by a neighbor to KG ROOFING to inspect any damage and replace missing shingles. Where other roofers couldn't match our neighborhood shingles, he had no problem! Not only that, but he was up on the roof so fast, I was in awe. Where I thought he was giving us an estimate, he had replaced a 1x1 section of shingles and applied sealant amount the flashing, edges, attic fan and chimney. He works hard and fast, and he is ever so reasonable! Love this guy!!!

K G Roofing was very professional. He had projects going on but once I explained the how rain was quickly damaging the side of my house, he came pretty much the next day to take a look. Then he performed the work in a timely manner. I realized my problem wasn't a big job for anyone and I appreciated his quick action. Has been raining constantly since then and no leaks!

Chris and his team were wonderful! They arrived on time and did an excellent job in making sure that everything was covered or moved out of the way before they starting tearing off the old roof. We had three layers of roof that had to be removed! Also, there were some bad spots that had to have new wood replaced and Chris replaced it at no extra charge. Chris made sure that he had enough men to complete the job in one day. When the roof was almost done, he had two additional men arrive to put on the guitars. After all was complete, Chris and his team made sure that everything was clean and put back in place. Thank you Chris for the excellent job you did!!

Chris did a great job with the estimate and explaining the whole process. Chris arranged for the permit and the dumpster. The crew was on-time and kept the job site clean. The whole process was easier than I thought and it looks great.

Everything went well,Chris was present on the site most of the time.From start to finish everything went well except some of the plants in my garden were damaged. Overall very professional.

Our old roof was 18 years old. We noticed some water spots in our dining room and contacted Chris at KG Roofing (along with 3 others) to determine alternatives. Chris called back within an hour of my phone call, and we set up a date/time for him to come out to view our roof. He arrived at the appointment on time and went up on the roof to evaluate it and take measurements. Chris recommended a new roof and took quite a bit of time to explain why he was making that recommendation. He answered all of our questions and encouraged us to contact him if others arose. After analyzing all the bids, we selected KG Roofing. They came to install our roof about a week later. Four men worked from about 7:00 am to 8:00 pm and were able to complete the project in one day. In addition to being professional, the workers were polite and seemed to take pride in doing a quality job. Even the clean up went well - they used a magnetic metal drum to remove stray nails. While it's been several days, the roof looks great and we survived a couple of heavy thunderstorms without any internal or external damage.

I'm happy with what he has done. He very prompt, he comes pretty fast.
