DESIGNfirst Builders LLCDESIGNfirst did a great job designing a new open concept kitchen and dining room along with a bathroom remodel. Our outdated kitchen and dining room were due for an overhaul. The design process was very professional and they were able to make revisions to meet our price range. The lead designer, Danielle came up with the innovative idea to We closed on financing and everything went into lock down literally the next day in March 2020. DESIGNfirst was able to guide us through material selection via videoconference and was very flexible in sending multiple samples to our door due to the pandemic. Demo started May 10 2020 and the work was completed late July on time and within budget. Could not be happier with the project manager Gary and the construction crew that made it happen each week. They were very attentive and professional following up on minor details and able to work around some minor kitchen faucet and tub shipment delays due to the pandemic. Paul is the owner and very friendly, responsive, and professional. He was able to answer all our questions, help with ideas and suggestions. After that Paul provided us with a very competitive price. The entire process went very well. Paul was checking in a few times to see if everything is going well and if we had any concerns. One contractor Igor was super professional. He did everything himself: demo, tiles, plumbing, lights etc. One of the big advantages of Bath & Kitchen Experts is that they include shower doors and installation in their projects. You don't have to go around and shop for your shower door in other places. This made the whole process flawless. Samanco Construction LtdExceeded expectations.This was a remodel of a finished basement that included demo and update of bathroom, replacement of drop ceiling, removal of old flooring and installation of new, reconstruction of a wall, drywall repair, painting, and construction of a bar. Simply terrific. Samanco was the lowest bid we took. The design was the best of the designs we reviewed. Tomas and Mirek worked Mon-Sat from 7-4 weekdays, 7-12 Saturday. There were no delays, no disappearances. The attention to detail was mind-blowing. Tomas and Mirek were very respectful, like good houseguests, and sensitive about COVID and distancing. Dan is a pure delight to work with and talk to. Strange to say, but we sort of miss having them around. We are so pleased we found them, so delighted with the work. The process went very smoothly, thanks to their professional approach. They took our 35 year old kitchen with dark, outdated cabinets, awful tile, no space for a microwave and gave us a bright, beautiful, convenient kitchen that we absolutely love. It is a world of difference! They painted the cabinets a beautiful light grey & installed new cabinet hardware, installed new subway wall tiles and new white countertops with integrated sink, converted a pantry cabinet with pull-out drawers, and modernized the cabinet base, all within a very tight timeframe and at a comfortable price. The tile was never cleaned as agreed to. After the job, I found soap scum that was supposed to be cleaned - there was a lot of it. One tile was replaced, but the grout around the tile was rough and never smoothed. In other areas, grout was applied on top the prior grout. This was obvious because the grout depth varied after the job. Some was recessed as it should be and some was thick and even with the surface of the tile. We were told that the grout was sealed, but it turned dark when it gets wet. Clearly, the grout was not sealed because sealed grout shouldn't change color when wet. This job was rushed and not professionally completed.

Project went very well. Maurizio and his team installed new quartz countertops in a big kitchen and installed tin backsplash. Included in the job was putting quartz on a breakfast bar attached to the main countertop. On the first day of the job, Maurizio took apart the breakfast bar and realized that the underlying structure was too weak to support the quartz countertop. He devised a way to build up the breakfast bar by adding supports to the adjoining wall and slightly modifying the width of the quartz piece that was to be placed on the breakfast bar. Despite the additional work, Maurizio and team finished the project in 3 days as originally planned. Maurizio was very communicative throughout the project - he and his team were polite, professional, and cleaned up well when everything was completed. I am very happy with the outcome and would use Avanti Stone for future work.
