"Jim & Rob handled the service. When they realized that they were running late, they called early on to let me know. They were a completely in sink team. They were efficient, knowledgable and extremely courteous. My father had owned his own plumbing company post WWII, and was one of the first licensed plumbers in the state of Illinois; accordingly, I watched & had many plumbing questions regarding the install. Jim & Rob patiently shared their expertice. High recommend. A great experience."

"Drains Inc. is your answer. Period. My situation turned out to be unique and Drains Inc handled it perfectly. I first called one of the Rooter businesses and completely regret it. The guy was either inexperienced or an idiot. He charged me $300 and left me hanging. I went to Yelp and found Drains Inc. They had great reviews so I gave them a try. Tim (owner) and Adam (apprentice) came out and kicked but. Like I said, my situation was unique. My line not only runs through the neighbor's yard, it runs under their breezeway and into their front yard. And the house is for sale and vacant. Tim took control, tracked down the owner, got permission to dig in their yard not once, but twice, and got the job done. Tim was making calls on his own time to help get the project done in as soon as possible and with as little inconvenience to me as possible. Communication was great throughout. Seriously, if you are looking for a plumber that will go the extra mile, get the job done right, and someone you can flat out trust, it's Drains Inc. Never once did I feel that I was being taken advantage of or that the job was being mishandled. Tim is a small businessman that cares about his work and his customers. Give Drains Inc. a try and you'll want to leave them a great review, too."

Affordable Plumbers questions, answered by experts

Yes, in most cases, a plumber can increase your water pressure. However, a plumber isn't always needed. If you want to potentially save some money on a plumber, consider troubleshooting using the above steps. If your problem still isn't fixed, then it's probably time to call a pro to fix it for you.

A sewer cleanout typically looks like a white or gray PVC pipe with a removable cap. It's often located either in your yard or basement, depending on your home's plumbing configuration. The cleanout pipe is designed to provide easy access to your sewer system for maintenance and inspections. It may be flush with the ground or slightly elevated, making it distinguishable from other pipes. When you remove the cap, you can access the sewer line directly or determine its direction, which can be helpful when you need to locate your sewer line from your house to the street.

Drain pipes carry wastewater from sinks, toilets, showers, and other fixtures to the main sewer line. They’re typically located within the walls and floors and beneath a home’s foundation. Meanwhile, sewer pipes transport collected wastewater to a septic tank or a municipal sewer system.

Your dishwasher drains through a hose that attaches to the plumbing below your sink or snakes out the back of your machine. In most cases, you can access one side of the hose from below your sink, as it usually ties into the same drainline that your sink uses. Otherwise, you may need to pull the dishwasher out of the counter to access it.

Pipes tend to burst once frozen for 24 to 72 hours. It takes temperatures 20 degrees Fahrenheit or colder for several days to freeze and burst pipes, rather than a day or two with temperatures hovering around freezing. When temperatures are dropping, it’s time to drip faucets and open cupboard doors that house pipes to circulate heated air.
