We serve the greater Chicagoland area and specialize in custom kitchens, bathrooms, basements and general remodeling projects. We provide full interior paint and refinishing services. "The worst experience we have ever had. BE AWARE - they are in no way a professional contracting service. We have had so many issues after their work was performed from plumbing leaks to electrical shorts, misaligned cabinetry and a voided floor warranty because they INCORRECTLY installed cabinetry on top of the new floor. Not to mention they did not first spread sufficient leveler to the floor leaving us with "pits" and squeaky flooring now. Whole project was a **** show. Obvious they pray on senior citizens and DO NOT stand behind their word or work. Finally proceeding with a lawsuit to recoup flooring costs and additional issues as they have ignored all requests to finish their work and correct issues. Once again THESE ARE NOT PROFESIONAL CONTRACTORS. If I could give negative stars I would. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED."

"We hired Your Painters to completely paint my 80 year old mothers condo. Also hired to do various remodeling projects. Painting was good. Remodeling was NOT. We worked with Lloyd Morris who stopped responding to our calls/texts once my mother paid him (he showed up at her home and fast talked her and she mistakenly paid him the balance). We had his contractors remove the bath tub and replace with a shower base and sliding glass doors in exact space. Many miscommunications due to Lloyd's fast talk demeanor. The shower doors were NOT installed correctly from the beginning. His contractor tried to band aid it multiple times. It is still leaking water after every shower. She is now paying a shower door company to take out that door and install a new one. Llyod will still not respond to pick up the door or refund the price of the door, much less the cost she paid to have it installed. He created an amazing amount of stress and tears for my mother during this 5 month process. I would NOT recommend Your Painters and especially NOT Lloyd Morris."

No, you cannot paint over soot. Soot is a type of contaminant and if not properly removed can cause further damage to your paint and walls. Adding paint directly over soot can result in your paint color changing in appearance and potentially peeling over time. 

You should typically be able to paint baseboards without removing them. If you remove baseboards for painting, you risk creating large nail holes or cracks when putting them back in place after the job is complete. If you need to remove the feature, it is possible to remove baseboards, paint them in another location, and reinstall them.

While there are some sealants designed to be spray-painted over asbestos to encapsulate it, you still want to make sure it’s a specifically designed product for this purpose—not just run-of-the-mill spray paint. Furthermore, be sure you aren’t inadvertently spraying the asbestos fibers around when you take on this project, and as always, be sure to wear the proper protective gear, including a P-100-rated respirator and a disposable body suit, so as not to inadvertently breathe in or spread asbestos fibers.

Because satin paint has a sheen to it, it will highlight curves and contours. While that’s great for trim, it’s not so excellent for your repaired drywall that has a few small blemishes. In addition, satin paint will stick to your surface better if it’s primed. Sand and prime your surface before applying satin paint for best results.

One gallon of paint covers about 400 square feet. Assuming that you have four equal walls that are 8 feet high, a 12x12 room will need one gallon of paint per coat. The number of coats you need will depend on the condition of the wall and whether you’re painting over an existing color or starting fresh.
