"Amazing how outdoor lighting can completely change the curb appearance of the house. My up-lit serviceberry trees outside my living room looked stunning when in full-bloom. The equipment is top-quality, the salesman is on-time & professional and the installers were efficient and knew what they were doing. So impressed."

"We've hired David Roesner a few times to come to our home to do electrical work, and he's been excellent every time! The biggest job was having him install a 240V subpanel so my wife could have an electric pottery kiln in our garage. He did a fantastic job, on time, and even under the estimated budget! David has also installed outlets and re-wired some of our home. He's our "go to" for electrical needs. Highly recommended!"

"I chose this company even though the quote was higher than the others because I loved the design. The landscaping compliments and adds to the value of my house. It's early but all of the plants seem to be thriving. I can't wait to see how it looks when the plants mature and blossom. Communication was great throughout. I especially appreciated the thorough directions for care."

Lighting questions, answered by experts

DIY is possible for minor issues like bulb replacement. Professional services ensure proper wiring and functionality.

There are tons of different types of landscape lighting available, including the choice between solar and wired, incandescent and LED, and a variety of colors. Specific types of lighting include:

  • Pathway lights: $50–$150 per fixture

  • String lights: $50–$150

  • Low-voltage lights: $90–$150 per fixture

  • Porch lights: $65–$250 per fixture

  • Floodlights: $75–$250 per fixture

  • Downlights: $100–$400 per fixture

  • Uplights: $100–$400 per fixture

  • Security lights: $ 350–$500 per fixture

  • Lamp posts: $400–$1,100 per lamp post

No, you should not leave LED Christmas lights up all year. While the LED lights themselves are very durable, their wiring and casings can be as vulnerable as any Christmas lights. They’re subject to drying out, experiencing cold or sun damage that causes them to crack, and even damage caused by gnawing pests. (The same is true of incandescents.) If you want your lights to last the years that they’re rated for, bring them inside after Christmas is over.

Installations include new light fixtures, upgraded panels, fixed outlets, and tracked wiring continuity.

While wet-rated and damp-rated lighting is designed to handle contact with moisture, there’s a difference between the two. Wet-rated lighting is safety-rated to be placed in areas with direct exposure to water, including your shower. Fixtures classed as wet-rated are made with waterproof seals to protect the filament and other electrical components from water and moisture.

Damp-rated fixtures can be used in places with some moisture contact, but not direct exposure. They don’t have the same waterproof seals used in wet-rated fixtures. Damp-rated lighting can be used on your bathroom ceiling or along a wall outside of your shower.
