Products and Services Services available from TOPTEC include all plumbing, hot water, sewer & drain service needs, heating and air conditioning design and installation including forced air, boilers and ductless systems, HVAC servicing of all types of equipment, electrical services, duct & dryer vent cleaning and maintenance agreements for peace of mind. Our Plumbing & Sewer division provides camera inspections, rodding, hydrojetting, sewer repairs, water heaters, sump & ejector pumps, and servicing of all pipes and plumbing fixtures Our HVAC division provides installation and servicing of Furnaces, Air Conditioners, Heat Pumps, Boilers, ductless systems, Humidifiers, Air Cleaners, dehumidification and fresh air solutions. Our Electrical division installs and services electrical distribution panels, EV chargers, backup generators, electrical rewiring, switches, outlets and lighting fixtures. Specialized expertise includes endless hot water systems, geothermal energy savings solutions, ventilation & airflow analysis along with balancing/zoning, condo and apartment multi-building heating/cooling systems installation and services, and comprehensive indoor air quality solutions for residential and commercial customers.

"Tl;Dr; AVOID FOR ANYTHING BEYOND SIMPLE MAINTENANCE OR HVAC ONLY JOBS Our entire experience with the HVAC team has been great. They have been attentive, had no problem with cleaning out the vents, and installed a vent fan for us with no issue. I had no problem pay for what they charged. It was a good chunk of money, but I thought it was worth it for what they had to do. That brings us to the electric and administration in general. We were having a bathroom vent fan replaced and exhausting out from the roof. This required an electrician to come and install the fan. Additionally he was going to be looking at some electrical anomalies we were seeing in the house (GFCI flipping, inconsistent current). He wasn't told about the fan at all. He wasn't even really told about the GFCIs flipping either. So when he gets here, he gets sprung on him these additional things. He does the GFCI thing, isn't able to see the inconsistent current while he is here so doesn't do anything with that, and then goes to do the bathroom. He says he ran new conduit. Inspecting what is there myself, I can tell you there is no new conduit. Why would new conduit be ran when no new switches, no new functionality was added? He charges us well over $500 for installing that fan AND HE LEAVES A HOLE AROUND THE FAN DIRECTLY TO THE ATTIC. How does a company charge that without completing the job with no intention on following up? We contest the price we were charged for service with management and they keep dragging their feet to "try to learn more", offering to refund a charge that I wasn't trying to contest. They keep promising to call back but aren't. There is no communication between different members of the team except through notes that don't tell them anywhere close to the full story. When I finally heard back from them today, they came back with a "Well your wife was okay with paying it and the work" when she was under the (admittedly presumptuous) impression that the HVAC guys would fix the fan because, again, why would they leave a hole in the ceiling like that. Not only that since she she paid the cost there will be no discussion of refund for work they didn't do. The communication is extremely poor from them. Do not use them from anything that is at all more complicated that requires multiple departments or this is the risk you run."

My name is Scott Nelson. My company is called "SCOTT NELSON ELECTRIC"because I want my own name to be on every job we do. I have been in the electrical trade for over 25 years. I went to trade school school through "Associated Builders and Contractors Electrical Apprenticeship Training Program"(A.B.C.)shortly after completing high school.I am noticed by the "National Bureau of Apprenticeship Training"(N.B.A.T.)as a Journeyman Electrician. I worked for 14yrs. with contractors from the north shore,n.w. suburbs, and northern illinois. "QUALITY ELECTRICAL REPAIRS & INSTALLATIONS"is the best way to explain our service. We believe that being "neat & tidy"is one of the best ways of showing how much we respect our customers, and their homes. Our goal is 100% customer satisfaction.

"Nelson Electric is the best electrical contractor I’ve used in my thirty-eight years of owning and updating my homes. It is difficult to find an excellent contractor who is willing to take on a major remodeling project in old construction, and who handles it efficiently, cost-effectively, and with perfection. This time we were remodeling a 110 year-old bathroom. When we got down to the studs, joists, and rafters, the plans were worthless because of all the surprises. Unphased, the crew was able to trace every hidden wire to destination and source, re-route them as needed, install a new, larger, circuit breaker box, pull wire through neatly, clearly identify and label everything, and finish beautifully the lighting, overhead heating, floor heating, and exhaust fixtures, making for a beautiful bath. Thank you, Scott!"

"I will never use 4 Seasons again. From misdiagnosing my HVAC, to their terrible communication, scheduling, and part delivery. Their account managers are impossible to get a hold of, and you're just another dollar sign to them. 4 Seasons is a useless company, that shouldn't exist."

FAQs for lighting service projects in Volo, IL

Typically, under-cabinet lighting costs about $265 on average, ranging from $230 to $300, depending on the type of lights, fixtures, and amount of electrical work required. Additional cost factors include the removal of old lighting, energy costs related to the type of light bulbs, and the replacement of light bulbs as they burn out.

Here are the average lighting costs by type:

  • LED Puck Lights: $25 per fixture

  • LED Strip Lights: $20 per 8-foot strip

  • Xenon Fixtures: $50 per unit

  • Fluorescent Lighting: $12 to $50 per unit

Recessed lighting installation costs about $360 on average, with a typical price range between $100 and $480, depending on labor cost in your area, required wiring, and the type of bulb. The cost to hire an electrician to install recessed lighting is typically $200 to $250 per fixture. If your electrical pro charges per hour, expect to pay $85 to $105 per hour for this service. Other cost factors include:

  • Ceiling material

  • Housing type

  • Trim type

  • Bulb type

  • Materials

  • Accessibility

  • Permits

On average, the cost to install a light fixture is about $550, ranging from about $160 to $950, depending on the number of lights and the type of light bulbs and fixtures. You should consider other cost factors like your home’s location, electrical and drywall work required to install the fixture, and removal of old fixtures when creating a budget for this project. Keep in mind that replacing a light fixture typically costs less than installing one for the first time.

You should hire a licensed electrician who is insured to perform any electrical work on your home, including lighting installation. States have different requirements for licensing and certifying electricians, so use Angi’s state licensing tool to review local guidelines.

Here are a few questions to ask electricians before hiring:

  • How many years of electrical experience do you have?

  • Are you licensed, bonded, and insured?

  • Do you work with subcontractors?

  • Do you provide a guarantee or warranty on your work?

  • What is the timeline for completion?

  • How do you handle change orders?

  • Can you provide at least three customer references?

Several types of light fixtures are available, each requiring different installation techniques. Keep in mind that you’ll need to hire a lighting specialist to install the majority of these fixture types.

Here are some of the most common light fixture options:

  • Ceiling-mounted fixtures: $90–$230

  • Pendant lights: $95–$250

  • Chandeliers: $300–$2,000

  • Track lighting: $100–$250

  • Wall-mounted lights: $90–$250

  • Fluorescent lights: $85–$220

  • Light bars: $330–$440
