"My technician Keith was great. Friendly and super informative. Also too a quick look at the entire drainage system and gave my an idea of where problems will pop up the future without preventative measures (my home was built in the 50s and while the previous owners took really good care of the house nothing has been gutted and replaced yet)."

"They are the absolute best in the area. They had to order a part and still got the job done in under 8 days. Calvin had great communication line telling me exactly what needed to be replaced and the status of the job. They will be taking care of all of my future HVAC needs. Best company in the Springfield area!!"

"After a scorching week with temps hovering in the upper 90's, I didn't think I would be able to get anyone here so quickly. I called Bob on a Saturday morning around 8am, and surprisingly enough, he was able to be here within a few hours. I explained the problem and he answered all of my questions. Lucky for me, I only needed freeon. Seems to be working. He was informative, friendly, and someone I felt I could trust. His prices were reasonable, too. I would recommend him to anyone. In fact, I have his receipt on my fridge waiting for the fall, so he can come out and inspect my furnace to make sure I'm good for the cold weather. It's sure nice to know there are people still around that are honest and just not after your last buck! Kuddos to Bob!"

Heating and Air Conditioning questions, answered by experts

If possible, avoid placing furniture in front of a return air vent. A blocked air vent can cause your HVAC system to use more energy, which in turn can lower the life span of your unit and raise your energy bill. Furniture can also trap hot or cold air, damaging your furniture or appliances.

Professional duct installers suggest leaving between six and 12 inches of space in front of an air return vent. If you must place furniture in front of a return air vent, try to aim for putting furniture over a floor vent instead of in front of a wall vent, and avoid draping curtains over any vent system.

The cost of annual maintenance depends on the type of HVAC system you have. AC service typically costs an average of $200 but ranges from $100 to $550. If your system needs repairs, the price will vary significantly depending on what needs fixing. However, addressing the issues as they arise can prevent further damage to your unit and keep it operating efficiently for much longer.

The cost of R32 refrigerant is about the same as the cost of R410A refrigerant, the most widely available type of refrigerant today. However, R32 systems use about 20% less refrigerant than R410A systems, making the refrigerant less expensive overall.

Yes, it’s best to turn off an AC unit that’s blowing hot air to prevent system damage and avoid expensive energy bills. If you let the AC continue running, it will put more strain on the condenser coil and compressor. Plus, if the AC is blowing hot air because of a refrigerant leak, it can also lead to a frozen evaporator coil.

In most cases, homeowners insurance will cover an AC replacement if it was damaged due to a covered peril—such as theft, fire, or storms. So, if your air conditioner needs replacing due to regular wear and tear, your insurance company probably won’t pay for a new one. However, home warranties often cover HVAC repairs and replacements.
