"Gibran and his crew were the hardest working crew I've ever seen. They arrived 15 minutes before scheduled each day (3 in total) and worked hard with very few breaks. They were neat and tidied up the site as they went and at the end of each day. I had a few things that had to be brought from the street to the house and the garage and they voluntarily helped me carry them through the war zone that was the demo area of the driveway. They all clearly care about the work they are doing and take pride in doing it. Communication skills are very high. I did have other contractors bid on the work and although their pricing was competitive, only Gibran (5 Star's owner) suggested adding drains to our catch basin to reduce the potential of standing water near our foundation. The existing driveway was approximately 100 years old. The neighbor's lot line is the edge of our driveway, so Gilbran suggested we do his walkway as well, since it would not look good o have the new and century old concrete side by side. The crew took great care to make sure that these two old homes were not damaged during the entire process. Gilbran is a good family man. We shared photos of our daughters and talked about his ambitions. He is the kind of person you know who takes his job and community seriously. He is a good salesman and delivers what he promises."

"In August 2021 I had my old asphalt driveway replaced with a red stamped concrete. I waited four months before I wrote review. The driveway definitely has the wow factor. This happy customer highly recommends them !"

"We had gotten way behind on our yard work, and the front and back yard had lots of weeds and thistle in the flower beds. I called a few different companies for estimates. Hector from Aerate gave the most detailed estimate for the work and materials needed, so we went with his company. The guys showed up early and worked hard all day. They dug up the weeds, edged the flower beds, pruned the bushes, and spread lots of mulch. The crew was very conscientious and cleaned up the walkway and driveway after they were finished. Now our landscaping looks brand new again. We're very pleased with the work."

Asphalt Driveways questions, answered by experts

You should not attempt to install your own driveway. Whether working with asphalt or pavement, this is a complicated project that requires special equipment. Talk to some nearby asphalt or paving professionals and discuss your particular needs—it’s a good idea to get a few quotes and look at the company’s past work.

Driveway paving costs around $4,500 on average, but depending on many factors, you could pay anywhere from $2,500 to $6,600 or more. The size of your driveway will usually be the most significant factor, with more square footage increasing your costs. You can expect to pay between $2 and $15 per square foot for paving services. Some other factors that play a role include the following:

  • Quality of the materials

  • Contractor’s experience and expertise

  • Site preparation and grading, if necessary

  • Layout of your driveway

Sealing coat asphalt after 6-12 months and then every 2-3 years is recommended.

Recycled asphalt is a durable choice for a driveway, but doesn’t have the same appearance and low maintenance as standard asphalt. For long driveways in rural communities, recycled asphalt can make a great choice. Recycled asphalt is 20% to 30% percent less expensive than standard asphalt and is better for the environment.

The dimensions of a driveway apron vary based on local building codes, the width of your driveway, and the distance between the driveway and the road. On average, aprons range from 12 to 24 feet wide and 8 to 18 feet long. Typically, the end of the apron connected to the driveway matches its width—such as 10 to 12 feet for a single-car driveway—while the end at the street flares out to allow cars to turn in and out more easily. In some areas, you may not be responsible for the portion of the apron that extends beyond the sidewalk, but this depends on local laws.
