The concrete cracked within the first week of being poured and nobody came to fix it. Also beware when dealing with Mike as he will charge you extra $1,000 or probably more to finish the job he starts. Itâ s a common business practice by him as a lot of customers are mentioning the same thing from Yelp, Homeadvisor.com, and Google Reviews. Read the reviews before dealing with Dependable Concrete. As a contractor Mike should know the price of materials beforehand and before quoting the customers. Mike demanded $1,000 more because of the increase of the cement price. Cement shortages have been going on for months and Mike should have taken that into account before giving the quote. Cement shortages aren't recent news. He waited until he removed the old driveway and then as the shady businessman that he is â he demanded extra money to finish the job when I was left with a big hole around my house. Beware as this is common practice by Dependable concrete if you read the reviews. Cement shortages or not â the original quote should have accounted for that. As a customer I donâ t ask my contractor to refund me the money if the price of material goes down in the future. Mike should stick to his original quote and price, but he doesnâ t do that. Stay away from Dependable Concrete â bad business to deal with and very poor quality â concrete cracks within days and nobody will come fix it after they take the money from you.

If I could give no stars I would, ALL of the reviews past people have left has been my experience! I just had work done this past May 2020 small simple job, fix a front walkway, and a small patch on the side of my house. Mike who is the owner first started off very nice, then as late may go by I contacted him with no response. I then to had to contact him down again to check the status of my permit, as I did give him HALF the down payment. Finally, I called the village myself and he finally contacted me. Time has gone by and they finished the job and man was it sloppy! They came back out to strip it and I pointed out their mistakes and how 2-3 family members also noticed these mistakes and the main guy on the job, EDDY, said *they are st***d, this is just a walkway and it does not really matter they are little things*. **Mistake included many chips that will continue to chip and they were rushing they cant cut straight lines or even finish the line for that matter, I continued to say that *it DOES matter to me because this is my house and my money*. If it was free I could not complain of such a sloppy job. GET EVERYTHING IN YOUR CONTRACT EVEN THE SMALLEST THING! They would not even come in to fill the dirt they took out for the job EXTREMELY CHEAP. I also had to clean up 12 nails so my lawn guy did not damage his machine or anyone else hurt themselves. Finally, my aunt wanted something called *a release of lien* so I kindly asked Mike in text and his response was SO RUDE AND UNPROFESSIONAL. I had to call him to set it straight. They ARE NOT accredited by the BBB SAVE YOUR TIME AND MONEY AND GO WITH SOMEONE ACTUALLY DEPENDABLE!!!!!

OK, Mike, his son and workers are all very nice and I have nothing against them personally. The price was fair and they got to work quickly. The concrete work though (California finish 15x30 patio and sidewalk) was barely passable. Crooked control joints that look like they were trowelled by a third-grader is my first complaint. Secondly and the thing that drives me nuts more is the fact that they left my property in an absolute mess and did not return to remove forms or clean up. I contacted the owner via text, and he gave me a date and a backup date they would return, but I was forced to do the cleanup myself. I had to remove forms, clean up concrete chunks all over my lawn, clean my driveways and siding of mud and splattered concrete, grade out the yard and reseed and dispose of left over materials scattered around my property. Like I said, nice people but not a nice finished product. I would not recommend.

Did not dig down and place 5" of gravel as per quotation, did not compact the surface properly, tie the mesh off with 6" overlap, or lift mesh throughout the pour as per the city inspector.They did lift the mesh only twice after each time I asked them about this. Right form was not square to house or street. Left slurry globs to dry on surrounding concrete which I had to chip off. Final saw cut crooked, squares not the same size. Cold joint pour very visible across driveway. I did not go with the lowest bid here.

this company is the worst I ever got to deal with. Mike took my deposit and for month did not showed up always making excuses. After I finally got mad his workers showed up All Mexican and filthy- my house siding all greasy and black from there finger prints , concrete dropping all over my existing driveway, my flowers all destroyed from them walking all over them and that's not were the work was done. And to top it all that the job that was required on my permit and by Village of Lombard not done at all. We did called Mike to have him come over and see what is going on no call and no show from him. He send his Rude Filthy Mexicans over, to so called correct the job - we are not happy with it at all. Don't call them they are NOT DEPENDABLE AT ALL - THE WORST OF THE WORST - it's simply not wort it

We hired Dependable Concrete. They damaged my lawn, the concrete was poured incorrectly, and now the new concrete has two cracks. We contacted them via telephone and text messages asking them to visit our home and address the cracked areas we were met with empty promises. They would not repair my lawn so my wife and I were left to do that ourselves. They never addressed how the concrete was poured incorrectly. I do not recommend them. You can depend on them to take your money.

The crew worked fast and were friendly. They started the job a day early and finished in two days even with every having to be done by hand

Felt that I was lied to by sales person Mike as when I reviewed the job with us he indicated that they would take care of the integration of the new driveway with the current stone paver sidewalk the way it was currently done. After I paid for the job on concrete pour, it became we will do our best and in the end they just dumped some sand in the couple of inch gap. Driveway looks great, but I don't like being lied to during the sales cycle and I will never make the final payment again before the work is totally completed.

They did a very good job from start to finish.

Mike Richardson and his son came to estimate the job which was removing an old concrete patio, step and walk and installing a new walk and step. They were friendly, obviously experienced and we felt comfortable with them immediately. The estimate was very reasonable. When the workmen came to do the work, they worked quickly and competently. I was nervous about a couple things but they reassured me and they were right! They even did a little extra by putting a simple pattern on the walk. I would certainly recommend Dependable Concrete.

Mike Richardson and his son measured our driveway and gave us a good estimate. He made suggestions for other work that could be done, but also others that would help us save money. Mike communicated with us often and thoroughly. His team who tore out the old asphalt and then built the driveway and new sidewalk sections were efficient and friendly. It only took them 2 days for the project. They cleaned up everything, and came back the next day to remove the wood framing and stakes. We are thrilled with our new driveway, and highly recommend Mike Richardson and Dependable Concrete.

They were easy to contact, stayed in touch with me throughout the project and completed the project exactly as we had discussed.

Mike's crew tore out existing asphalt drive and installed new concrete stoop, drive and patio. Work was excellent quality, and done without delay. Would recommend to anyone.

They seem to get the big things right but once you've committed to them, communication stops. They will say anything, including "I'm a Christian" and "This is going to look so good, I'd like to put a sign Out". It's just words. They do not respect your property. Deck was damaged. Said they'd come and look at it. They didn't. Said they'd come and patch a hole in the foundation. They didn't. I'd hold final payment back until you're 100% satisfied or you'll never see them again.

Some of the workmen were amazingly skilled & kind; but communication, timing& quality were problems. When told, "Call by Tues. if ready & we can probabky start Thurs/Fri.", called Monday-am-"Ready". 3 WEEKS LATER they start. After driveway/garage floor tear up & as ready to pour garage cement was told price was an EXTRA $900 due to CEO error in his proposal. Compromised & paid an additional $450. Crumbled edges, holes, non-connecting grooves-(causes water retention & freeze cracks) all exist. Woodridge resident
