"Our drywall had water damage to the ice dams from the winter storms in February. We called for an estimate. Matt is very professional and punctual. He gave us a reasonable quote compared to other companies for a smaller job. Matt and his assistant did a great job and even went above and beyond replacing and repairing parts of the wall that weren't included in the estimate. I would hire them again and recommend them to anyone needing drywall work. They cleaned up the area too."

When I tried to discuss it with him and find a solution, he hung up on me. Extremely unprofessional and dishonest from start to finish. You should always use a primer before painting over wallpaper to help the paint adhere correctly and get a good finish. Not all wallpaper can be painted over, so do a test patch in an inconspicuous area before painting an entire wall. If the primer and paint don’t adhere, you’ll need to remove the wallpaper, prime the wall, and then paint.

You can paint over existing wallpaper if you select wallpaper that is designed to be paintable. This type of paper is meant to add texture to walls. Alternatively, if you have old wallpaper you’d like to cover up, you can often paint over that instead of removing it. However, it needs to be smooth, damage-free, and non-textured. Otherwise, any bumps, tears, and texture will show through the paint.

You can hide wallpaper seams when painting by applying joint compound over them and then sanding thoroughly until smooth. You’ll want to apply two layers of compound, allowing for four to eight hours between coats. Do a light sanding between coats and then after the final coat is dry. Once the compound dries completely, you can begin priming and painting the wall.
