"Constantin and his crew did an outstanding job replacing our kitchen counter. First we used the website to identify several possible candidate granites from the lines he carries. Then we created a rough drawing of the countertop and visited the showroom to look at samples of the granite we had liked on the website. We were assisted in choosing one and the job was estimated. I made a deposit and Constantin visited my home to do exact measurements. The installation was scheduled for one week later and went smoothly: hold laminate was removed and new granite installed, including a backsplash. I asked the company to return because initially I thought I didn’t want a backsplash inside the appliance garage but later changed my mind. They returned and installed it without complaint at no extra charge. I was thrilled with the selection, the gentle and knowledgeable service in estimating and measuring from Constantin, and the beautiful job of installation done by Constantin and his team. I especially appreciated the follow-up correction after I changed my mind. The whole process was reasonably priced and the logistics were way easier than I thought they would be. GREAT JOB!!!"

Little Green Kitchens is a unique luxury kitchen design company because we are equally as passionate about the environment as we are about design. Each year thousands of tons of construction waste are added to our landfills when much of it can be reused and given a new, beautiful life. Additionally homeowners unknowingly discard cabinets, counter tops, lighting and appliances that may no longer fit their needs, squandering potentially tens of thousands of dollars that can be added back into their renovation budget.

"I'd advise anyone looking to do business with this company -- beware -- Lucas came over to do an estimate for complete remodel of 2 bathrooms, never sent an estimate that he said he'd have to us in a few days, then said plumber has drawings & will have a price "at weeks end..". That was July 3, 2018. Then September 9th I contacted him (only curious about the cost, with no intention at this point of hiring someone who obviously doesn't give a ****), asked about the estimate, he said thought he sent it, but will look and check his computer when he returns in a week and (again) "...speak to you at weeks end". Never heard anything back. How much more irresponsible and unprofessional can you get than that?"

Cabinet Making questions, answered by experts

Shaker cabinets are best defined by their square edges and recessed center panel, which is surrounded by two rails and two stiles. These cabinets can feature a full inset, a full overlay, or a partial overlay. While this cabinet design may have originated in the 1800s, the clean, crisp lines are ideal for modern styles, making them a popular option for all types of kitchens.

All inset cabinets are face frame cabinets, but not all face frame cabinets are inset cabinets. You have three main cabinet door styles to choose from with face frame cabinets: inset, partial overlay, or full overlay. With inset cabinets, the doors and drawers are mounted inside the face frames, so the fronts of the cabinets are flush when everything is closed.

Any of your garage shelves should be able to hold heavier loads, but it’s best to place heavier items on middle shelves. The only reason for this is to prevent injury—lifting heavy loads from down low requires squatting or bending over, which can lead to back injury, and lifting heavy loads off of high shelves in the garage can be especially dangerous if you drop them.

Unless otherwise specified in the manufacturer’s instructions, in most cases you should attach the hinges to the cabinet door before attaching it to the cabinet frame. Once you attach the hinge to the door, you can then align it with the cabinet frame and screw it firmly into place. Be sure to consult the manufacturer’s instructions for best practices.

The designs are different enough that a conversion would mean more or less fully replacing cabinets to switch between the two. However, if you really like the frameless look but you have face frame cabinets, you may be able to mimic the style by replacing your cabinet doors with full overlay ones.
