"He was very professional and self-sufficient throughout the entire process. He arrived right on time, brought everything he needed, and got straight to work without needing any extra direction. He fixed my drawer quickly and efficiently, with great attention to detail. Overall, he was dependable, polite, and clearly takes pride in doing quality work."

"I would totally recommend this company! Ariel went above and beyond for me when replacing my roof and gutters! Ariel would call me and let me know he was on the way or if he was running even 5 minutes behind. My house looks great and I will be using them again come spring to start replacing some of my windows. Thank you Ariel! Your crew was great, too."

"Josh tore down my laundry room and carport and rebuilt them. I never hired a contractor before so was apprenhensive, but Josh was always easy to reach, always answered every question, and always showed up when he said he would. His calm demeanor made the whole process easier, and I was very happy with the end result. '"

"The crew arrived earlier that agreed and set to work quickly. The crew were friendly, knowledgeable, respectful and efficient. They worked very hard and were very respectful of our home. The job required they work at our house over multiple days and each day the guys cleaned up the work area very thoroughly. I really appreciated that the guys did not rush any aspect of their job but really focused on the quality of their workmanship. All phone contact with the management of Cooper's Construction was answered very quickly and they were very responsive to our needs. I absolutely will use this company again and I will recommend them to everyone I know.

"Andrew (the owner) came by and initially gave us a quote.  It's the first time a GC has come in a suit !  I have been around and have used many a Contractor in the past.  Andrew and his team were able to stick to the original cost estimates.  This is not something that all contractors usually are good at doing.   We did need to obtain permits for construction.  Andrew was able to obtain the necessary paperwork and provide the city with what was needed.  We passed all city inspections w/o a glitch.
We did end up doing some extra work, as will always occur when one is doing a project.  You start to 'see' things different.  Andrew was always accommodating and flexible.  I had a deadline for him, he was able to meet it.  We are almost 3 months out and everything he and his crew had done is still intact and properly functioning.  As a busy physician, I wanted to trust my house to someone that would take care of everything without a great deal of micromanaging.  He did.  I would recommend him.

Unfinished Carpentry questions, answered by experts

Learning how to frame a house includes picking the right lumber for the job. Most people will want to pick pine, spruce, or fir for the framing. These types of lumber are affordable and produce sturdy framing for structures. Look for kiln-dried lumber to reduce the risk of shrinkage or insect damage after installation. As part of what’s included in framing a house when you hire a professional, the contractor should order the lumber, so you don’t have to worry about finding the right lumber.

When choosing a drywall anchor, consider the weight of the object you're hanging and how much weight the anchor will need to support. The heavier the weight, the stronger the anchor you'll need. You’ll find the weight capacity on the packaging when shopping for anchors.

Also, remember that you can use more than one anchor when hanging something on the wall. If you're using multiple anchors, divide the object weight by the number of anchors to determine how much each will need to support. If you need help deciding which drywall anchor to use, you can hire a handyperson to hang your objects.

Using a steel frame may raise the value of your home. Steel is more heat resistant, has better longevity, and doesn’t need any upkeep compared to traditional wood. You can also customize a steel build a little easier than other materials like brick, concrete, and vinyl—which have trouble bending and adapting to renovations.

Metal stud framing parts include the studs themselves, upper and lower tracks that act as top and bottom wall plates, various angle fasteners and clips, screws for fastening pieces togeher, metal straps, c-channel supports, and thicker steel supporting structures. Roof framing metal components include pre-fabricated trusses, heavy-gauge stud pieces, and various plates and fasteners.

Stick frames, metal frames, or prefabricated concrete frames are included in framing a house, along with creating the framework and space for windows, doors, and entryways. Other aspects of developing a home—like drywall, insulation, windows, doors, and more—are not included in the cost to frame a house.
